New Stove

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I was given a great stove (not new but real nice). It is one of those ceramic top ones. Yes, yes it is very nice but
it is the hardest thing to clean. I cleaned and scrubbed the pans on the bottom and it still leaves marks that it takes forever to get off. Does anyone have one of these so they can tell me what they use?

HoniBee, I have a smooth top. I thought I would like it, but I don't :( You can clean it with something called:Barkeeper's Friend it is a powder like Ajax or Comet, but rated for smooth cook tops. There is also something put out by Weiman called "Cook Top"(white and black bottle) it is a cleaning creme for smooth tops. I find both of these at Walmart. The main reason I don't like my smooth top is because you are not supposed to do any kind of canning on it. I still do.

Lisa, I have a dear friend who bought one and wants to can. Did you do anything different? Did it scratch it up?

Thanks. I am not sure how I feel about it yet. I didn't know you couldn't do canning on it. Why is that? I have the cream to clean with so maybe I will try the barkeepers.
