Super-annoying popup on right side of every screren

Rancho Santa Rita, TX(Zone 8a)

How do we het rid of it ? It has a facebook logo on it.

I can only suspect it is there because I joined facebook
and "liked" DG.

I do NOT like this !

It reads as follows :

I had the same highly annoying thing and can't recall how I got rid of it but it was a minor nightmare.

Check your 'Preferences: Advertisements'
If the box is checked you will see Ads.
If they are unchecked as below you should not be seeing them.

It looks like you have your ads are disabled, so you shouldn't be seeing any ads on Dave's Garden.

Heres how you fix it.

When the flag pops up, there is a bery small
facebook icon in the upper left corner.

Click on it and select something to the effEct
of 'stop showing this". I don't remember the
exact phraseology.

It has nothing to do with. the ads on or off
selection. It is independent, and I reiterate,
SUPER annoying.

I want to know WHY this is at the bottom of every page. post, or shared link?

I find it quite annoying! Always have to delete it before i forward something...

What is the purpose of it?????

I'm going to take a stab at this and say you're referring to the Tynt links that come up when you copy/paste something from DG. They are intended to make it easier for people to share content to Facebook or Twitter, And at the same time, share the link that leads back to the source of their content. If you copy and paste something from (especially to somewhere outside of DG), giving credit where it's due is appropriate.

However, if you don't like them, there is a small link at the bottom of the dialogue box that allows you to turn them off.

Where is the dialogue box? I would love to turn this off too. Thanks, Patti

Patti, when you are copying something and the dialogue box pops up, you'll see a link beneath the Facebook & Twitter icons to turn it off. I'd do a screenshot, but I think I've already turned mine off :-)

Ha, maybe mine is off now too as no dialogue box with face book and twitter icons are coming on today as they had been when I was recently copying plant names from my journal so I could label my garden photo's. It only happened randomly, so I couldn't figure it out, but If it comes back, I will now know how to kill it. Thanks, Patti
