I found it best to put the cuttings in a soil mix when the rootlets formed, not letting roots fill the water, they seemed to struggle when a wad of roots were put in soil. As soon as the cutting showed signs of rooting, they hit dirt, letting them form through soil.

DUDE! That was a problem worth having. Gorgeous.

Told you I used to have a problem LOL.

Rhapsody,

Received my cuttings just a little while ago, and they are so healthy and your packing was excellent.

As soon as I see rootlets in the bubbler, I will transfer them into soil!

Thank you!!

I was checking on them (rooting in sphagnum) and I have a root on one! The rest were rotting, though. From googling, I think I was keeping the sphagnum way too wet? So I cut off the rot, wrung the sphagnum out, put hormone on to hopefully jump start them and put them near the warm part of the fridge. Will water only lightly now. I'm still excited that I'm definitely at least getting one plant, though! Anything else I should do or not do to increase the chances on the other ones?
Thanks Rhapsody!

I think you have it covered. The wet moss will rot the cuttings for sure... so just moist and maybe a heating mat! That way the moss dries a little quicker! And you are most welcome!

I left everyone feedback. If you don't see your please left me know. I will post it ASAP!

Ellie, they grow so very quickly. It will not be long before the one remaining will be big enough to make a cutting and root another. Less then 6 months. If for what ever reason it too bits the dust I will give you the same offer.

Thank you, Rhapsody. I appreciate the advise and the offer. All still looks well. I'll pull and check on them again in a day or two to make sure the rot hasn't restarted. I don't have a heating mat available but yesterday I put them outside when it was hot and sunny and at night/rain next to the fridge heat exhaust. I do have a curiosity though - the tops of the cuttings are shrinking/drying about 1/2" with a thin darker layer just beneath the dried stem. Is this rot on the top or just normal "healing" reaction to being cut?

Flsusie, yes indeed. I am very happy regardless! It's pretty awesome.

A photo of one of my four new Dr. Seuss plants. Thanks again.

Looking good!!!

Here are mine, two have the roots coming out the bottoms of the pot, one died down some, they sure do look good to me. Thank you so much for the cuttings, I am finally getting the hang of rooting again. I rooted these in water with a little super thrive changing the water every day, then potted them up into 4 inch pots

I got some klonex this past week to try on other plants. I hope klonex works.

Thanks again.

Hay they look like they are off to a good start. Even the one that died back looks good. Soon you will be a proud brug parent.

1 with a pot full of roots, 2 with 1-2 small roots, 1 with tiny root buds, 1 rotted.
Pretty good so far!

Long Beach, CA

Centaurea, I would say so!! Got any pictures yet?

Almere, Netherlands(Zone 8b)

Nothing to show yet, repotted the one with lots of roots but no leaves on it yet.

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

Mine are now in small pots. I did use some root hormone because the roots weren't quite out yet, and since one rotted I thought I'd better make the move now.

I had them in a bubbler, and for whatever reason, they didn't seem to like that, so went back to the old-fashioned way, and just stuck them in soil.

Will keep you posted!

Long Beach, CA

I can never do the bubblier thing. Rots every time. Send some picts when you get a chance.

Hello all. Just posted another listing for Brug cuttings of White Suaveolens. Look for it if you want some.

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

Checked this morning, and they are not doing too well. One is already gone, and the rest don't seem to be responding.

Really not sure what to do at this point. Have done many many cuttings in the past, so maybe I've lost my touch!

I'll take pictures in a bit.

Mesilla Park, NM

I put mine in the ground yesterday, three of them, they look good this morning. All three have about six leaves each. The fourth died I think. Ill take photos after my doctors appt. this afternoon.

I have them in pots right now and the picture will show that I'm contemplating using the moss. I remember you saying that you never had luck with rooting in water, and these babies just may remember that.

Any help will be appreciated.

I don't think it is as bad as you think. The stocks are still green. They many be making roots. I can not tell you how many cuttings I was about to toss... then I saw the roots. Give them a little more time. Let's see how they do. You might be surprised!! Just keep them in the shade.
