Thanks , made my day to see them blooming. Hope they fill in the bare spots over time.
SPRING #2 - 2013
methinks I need some trillium
Would it better if I tried starting them from seed if they hate to be moved?
If you can find seeds. I've ever collected them so I'm not sure how. Hey, I can dig some up and try ...I have plenty so maybe if I take a big clump and dig deep we can make it work :)
that would be great thanks ^_^
nice Celeste!!.. the noid tulip is awesome
I think there are hybridized Trillium that are not wild and plant fine.

The river running through the tulips is wonderful! My son brought me 3 trilliums when he had to move them from his property....he took a huge amount of the soil they were growing in....only one survived here, but it's doing well.....
Raining here too Marilyn
Enjoyed the shots of the blue river.
Marilyn, your Yaku Princess is a little farther along than mine. Don't you just love it when it's in bud and just coming out. Indescribable. And the two JMs are quite lovely too.
I've got purple-red and yellow trilliums blooming this year. Whites are touchier for me. The new dogwood is finally fading away and the juvenile lilacs shine behind the tulips which are on the way out. I am so glad the dogwood filled in an empty niche. We're rushing around packing, so you understand why no pics I'm sure.
If I get my way, I will get to photograph the peony collection at the Nichols Arboretum, at U Michigan. As I recall, midwest is a little ahead of us in the Northeast, so it ought to be glorious.
Thanks, Rosemary....safe, happy trip for you!
Nice, Jen. Love the geum!
Pretty....I love the way the nepeta smells when I crush it....very minty.....
oohh I see someone for my want list.. for the next swap JoAnn.. LOL
Glad you posted that Jo, I liked it when I saw it in your garden, and have wanted it since.
This is the second season. It holds its shape nicely and makes a nice spread all season.
It continues to bloom also.
I have Stacys Silky Fleece that looked great until over winter. It died in the middle and now had a halo of leaves around a dead center.
I wonder if I should have cut it back more.
Nope....the center dies out....dig, separate, & replant....
Love those iris!
Very pretty!
Jen I love the cherry blossom on the fairy village! That geum is pretty too.
Nice clump of iris's Jo!
1) noid
2) 'Blueberry Tahhht' I believe. ^_^
3) Virginia Bluebells
4) Apple Blossoms!!!
5) This should have a drum roll......Plumeria that I have been growing for 5 - 7 years...never bloomed.
After my brother Brian passed away I said (jokingly) "Hey, if you still have a green thumb on the other side, do you think you could do something about this?" It was blooming yesterday when I got up...I could almost hear him say "Happy Mother's Day Chie"
How cool is THAT Celeste!!!!
Very cool, my niece says it's called GODWINKED when something like that happens. I like that phrase. :) All I know is...I blubbered like a fool!
Blueberry Tahhht.. LOL hear it every time I read it anyway
I love that phrase - Godwinked!
Yummy. Blueberry tahhts.
Godwinked is such a perfect phrase......have had several such things happen like that......does make you cry!
indeed it does
Was thinking of you this morning, Allison, while reading the morning paper.....a Yorkie & a Yorkie mix were attacked in their own home by a pit from next door....he jumped his fence, their fence, & pushed open a sliding door to get them! Both are OK, recovering with stitches...the pit was put down.
I have a pit bull, sweetest dog I've ever known. I know they are more aggressive toward other dogs than people. I've been really nervous about her being around Leah. She does seem a little jealous, especially when we play on the floor together.
Deb if you are nervous.. keep the dog away..they will pick up on you being nervous and think something is wrong.. and possibly try and protect you
I'm getting more relaxed but I certainly don't leave them alone. I read too many stories about dogs, any breed, and babies.
you know it .. even my yorkies.. all the baby has to do is grab there hair and pull.. could lead to a bite.. not worth it
Very true! I never let the kids touch Suey if I wasn't right there, & she's mild-mannered.....Robin only got to see them through the porch windows....I don't think he would have hurt them, but I couldn't take a chance.
