I will D-mail it to you again. This time--print it out....OK?

Food thread for the RU at Jan23's on May 18
I looked at your list and you all seem to have the food pyramid covered. I plan to bring some flavored tea breads, which
are like dessert but not too sweet. And some homemade iced tea.
Important question (at least to me)...will there be coffee? Should I contribute some coffee grounds?
Oh boy!! Coffee!! Great Idea.
Yes, coffee a must, I live on it, probably 2 pots a day. Everything sounds so yummy, like Holly's family picnic, everyone goes all out doing their most requested dish. A feeding frenzy only exceeded by Thanksgiving. LOL
OK, Nisi. Sounds yummy
Coffee----- check!
Phew...so glad someone is bringing "my" homemade iced tea even if I can't come LOL
COffee and then Jan gets the grounds for her garden!
Woot, woot! I must confess that I haven't composted lately. (hanging head)
eh thats whats great the coffee grounds go right in and make it look like good rich dirt.
Okey-dokey! Must. Do. This.
Yummy!
I guess I will make some brownies of some sort and will see what else occurs to me.
And, I hope to bring some Great Harvest breads to put those slices on! Any one want 'gluten free'?
judy/coleup
Gluten free would be great as long as it doesn't taste like cardboard ^_^
I've decided on the Hawaiian Chicken and will bring the rice pilaf for Jen and anyone else who is gluten free.
I actually don't need gluten free anymore, I was healed from that...thanks! I just try to watch the grains
Good news, Jen. I guess we won't need the rice.
Nope, don't want you to do any extra work ;)
OK, got the roast beef, great harvest bread(I saw the bakery near your house, coleup) and the Hawaiian chicken. Also the brownies

Since I am traveling with Pixie, I will bring toppings for bread like home made jam and savory topping from Trader Joe's.
AYC gotcha girl!!
I"m hoping to make it but won't know until close to the day. If I can come I'll bring cheese and crackers and wine.
Whoop, whoop!! Surely hoping you can make it, Shirley
I will be leaving a trail of drool everywhere I go on May 18th, just thinking about all this GREAT food you all will be enjoying!! Ma and Grammy have their mini-van rental all set and ready to pick up, and their arrival date is still set for the 17th. I feel sooooo bad that I'm going to miss out on all this fun, but it looks as though you all are going to have a wonderful group of party-goers and I'm soooo glad!! Y'all will be in my prayers for a WHOOP'in' good time!!! Will be fondly thinking about Gita's pickles... **sigh**. (giggle). < =)
We will miss you, too, dear!! Maybe we'll have a communal 'raise the fork' toast to you. Heehee
my friend Karen is bringing potato salad... and I added her to the list for the gift table.. she can't wait to meet you all
I'd be happy to bring a cold roast chicken to slice (roasted on the spit on our grill) or a cold roast beef to slice -- but can't guarantee I'll arrive before 2pm. Is there any point? When will everyone be eating? If everyone is staying for dinner, that makes sense.... but otherwise maybe not.
I posted on the other thread that I would prefer to switch to a broccoli and cauliflower salad instead of meat. So that'd be perfect Happy.
That's what prompted me to suggest it -- I just don't know if I'll be arriving too late for anyone to eat it!
If I remember correctly, we were eating all day at the other swaps!!! Went right thru from brunch to dinner.
Wow, it seems the food items is really covered. I work late a 12 hour Thursday and 1-9 Friday night so I will see what I can come up with before I go to work. It is suppose to be nice and warm that day. Do we have enough desserts? I could do more cookies. Soda or iced tea, a couple cases of water.
Happy--
There are only 2 deserts listed above--plus a Fruit Salad.
Perhaps you could bring another Sweet? Wine is always good!
I feel like i should bring Wine as well--as I like to drink it...but I am already bringing two things....
Not to worry! Things always work out....G.
some sort of dessert it is then and a case of water, My friend can bring wine I think.
Got it!
I was thinking of doing a dessert too
I'll bring a dessert, too. Special K bars.
We'll also bring a chicken pasta salad.
I'm leaning towards roast chicken because it is easier to serve and eat than beef, but I could go either way, so if anyone has a beef craving please let me know. I am eager to please!
Gotcha
I still haven't made a final decision on what to bring. I was looking for something that will travel and serve easily. I may try a new cold shrimp recipe that was in this month's Southern Living magazine - a little hesitant to try something new as I am not the best cook. I don't want you all to have to be the suffering guinea pigs if I screw it up - but, it looked pretty simple and the best part is that you make it ahead of time and let it marinate over night. My friend Cheryl will be bringing either an appetizer or a dessert.
Aspen -- that sounds lovely and I think we'll all be happy guinea pigs.
We'll be surprised then, by what you bring. That sounds yummy, though.
