I will bring Chinese dumplings.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

do you have another spot for a crock pot?.. I can make chicken and andouille jambalaya that travels well

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Don't think im making any hot dishes...traveling from Maine on Friday I better stick with desserts if thats OK.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

YUMMMMM!!! Donner

yes, Allison. Lots of plugs

Great idea, pixie!!

Whatever is easiest for people traveling. Methinks we will NOT go hungry.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I'm thinking i'll bring a couple of pans of SCOTCHEROO'S for starters. ^_^ (Allison aka onewish1 knows what they are. )

Please let me know what you need that I can pick up at the store -- I will be traveling all day, so won't have time to cook in the morning and anyway, anything in the car will get too warm. I'll think about it too -- maybe I'll come up with something. But remember that I'll be arriving late, so don't assign me appetizers. Maybe I can make a monetary contribution to someone else who is cooking or shopping? Anyone out there who'd cook but would like some help with the expense, let me know. Maybe I'll bring a bottle of wine or two...

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I read that.. the the drool started to flow.. trust me.. they rock!!!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Happy, And here I was looking forward to an appetizer from you. Heehee.

Sounds delish if one wish started acting like Pavlov's dog. Put a bib on Allison for the drool. Wheee!!!

Central, MD(Zone 7a)

Meat. I will edit later.

Edit per Jans request: "mystery meat"

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

OK. That made me think of the 'mystery' meat they would serve in the college cafeteria many moons ago. Never did figure it out.

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Hey...I know this will come as a shock but I can bring a variety of bottled soda if that's ok? Will ask as usual if a couple of folks could bring a couple of coolers and I'll find a place close to pick up ice.

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Well---
I will make my yummy Macaroni and Ham and Cheese Casserole and my
home-made Garlic/Dill Pickles.

Will need to keep the casserole warm. It tastes a lot better.....not sure how?
I guess we could heat it up in the oven before serving--or a Microwave.
How big is your MW, Jan? I will have to use a pan that will fit in a MW.

If you need another bottle of wine--I can bring one. I like to sip on wine at socials...
LMK-----Gita

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

My goal is to have plenty of coolers and ice available for anyone who needs it. Soda, check.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Jan, Sign me up for a Greek pasta salad (a few may remember) and maybe a dessert. LOL Almost volunteered to bring a desert. Just could not find a recipe for one! Spell check would have missed that for sure.

Mount Bethel, PA(Zone 6a)

I can bring either:

Hawaiian Chicken (pineapple, mushroom, shallot, wine sauce
or
The green salad with the maple dressing (my usual)
or
Pulled Pork
or
Lasagna

Let me know at least a week before, which would be a better choice.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Sounds great, Ric. Maybe you could make up a recipe for a desert. Call it Sahara sunset or something exotic. Howsabout Gobi goo!!

RRR. Whatever your little heart desires and that travels best for you. I KNOW that whatever you bring it will knock our socks off!!!!

Mount Bethel, PA(Zone 6a)

Iknow that you will have crock pot outlets available. Will your oven be available?

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Yes, ma'am!

Silver Spring, MD(Zone 7a)

I'll be late, so I'll bring a fruit salad.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

How about one of these?
Libyan Libation, Blue blueberry Karoo, Nambian nonsense, Cholistan Cocoa, Ordos oreos, Maranjab macaroon, Thal truffle, Thar turnover, Chihuahuan bite, Atacama ambrosia, LaGujira lady fingers, Patagonian parfait, Monte meringue, Tanami toffee, Bandenas Reales baklava, Sinai sorbet, Negev nougat, Owami Orgasim

Mount Bethel, PA(Zone 6a)

Looking forward to that wonderful assortment!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

you had me at toffee

:)

Mount Laurel, NJ(Zone 7a)

Jan, let us know if you want anything in particular. I see fruit salad already spoken for... thinking we can bring quinoa salad. As much as I like cooking and baking, swaps always get me in the planting mode vs the cooking and baking mode. I always feel like I barely have time to do a darn thing in the kitchen lol. Quinoa pilaf/salad is nutritious and quick to make. How does that sound? We'll try and bring some homemade cookies too. Anise biscotti, Sesame Regina or Oat chocolate chip?

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Wind, quinoa salad sounds good. The oat choc. Chip jumped out at me, but that's just me. Heehee

annapolis, MD(Zone 7b)

Wind I was hoping you would bring something with quinoa!

Ric, if we do a fire pit I'd rally like some of your Sonoran S'mores with nopalea dip.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Oh, oh, oh, we do have a fire pit of sorts. When the grandies stay over and Jeff puts up the tent you HAVE to have a campfire. Anyone want to pitch a tent?

annapolis, MD(Zone 7b)

Yea Jan, I may need to pitch a tent if my plans to have Pixie or Nuts for Daylily kidnap me and take me North for the summer....Will plant for food....work out.

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Wind - I've really taken a liking to quinoa recently. When you're able might you point me to some good recipes for that? Costco has the best price so I've recently picked up a 'little'

Chevy Chase, MD(Zone 7a)

Me too -- I love it -- and it is so quick to cook!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Great mind pictures....coleup clinging to vehicles headed north and Chantell trying to carry a "little" quinoa out of the store. Love it!

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

LOLOL all you guys!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Michele is coming with me .. And a friend .. Michele is bringing macaroni salad

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

a secret friend, Allison?

I haven't decided what I want to bring yet, I'll wait to see what you need more of when it gets closer

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Jan--
You do not have me down in your food list!!!

I posted way above that I will bring my yummy Macaroni and Ham and Cheese Casserole--
and my home-made Dill pickles.

Please add me to the list. Thanks, Gita

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Gita, dear, I am soooo sorry!!! I missed it in trying to keep up I messed up.

OK, Jen

Central, MD(Zone 7a)

Yayyyy for the pickles!!! Might want to take into consideration my appetite for your Dill Pickles Gita. :) Yumm

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

no not secret.. her name is Karen.. one of the haunt people.. she has an organic garden in her yard.. full of veggies.. has tons of seeds growing in the house.. looks familiar when I go to her house.. makes her own kale chips & healthy crackers.. very good cook

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Paul----
Thanks for the thumbs-up for my pickles. They ARE good!

Tell you what---I will make a jar just for you to take home. BUT--promise me you will make these yourself.
it is easy-peezy. and ready to eat in 3 days. NO sterilizing of jars or anything.
Fresh bunches of Dill can be had in some grocery stores. Weis (if you have one) has the biggest bunches--
and they cost only $1. 69. Giant also--but their bunches are $1.99.

I use the long, English Cukes--they have almost no seeds and taste the same...More for the money.....
Did you get the recipe last year? I can send it to you. Will have some printed out again.

G.

Central, MD(Zone 7a)

I believe I have the recipe some where? Probably in my inbox some where.
