Pied Cormorant which was raiding someone's crab drop nets. It swallowed this fish, blue nylon tie and all.
Bad news, that - hope it doesn't choke on it.

Yes, and it's sad.
i've been lurking… and loving all your pix!
It's been dark and dreary for so long here, not great for picture taking. Here are a few pix over the last week or so.
Cedar Waxwing - eating the sap/bugs off the silver maple
House Finch - eating an apple that I had out for the squirrels and woodpeckers
Northern Shoveler
Blue-winged Teal (lifer)
Hermit Thrush
I had never seen an Indigo Bunting until we moved to this house. I was so excited! I look forward to them every spring now!
I had them the first year here and haven't seen one sice :(
Phoebe's have returned. They nest in our small barn. I hope they include ticks in their diet.
Hairy woodpecker was on the suet feeder & DH could hear the red-bellied one.
I would like to invite you all to come and celebrate GrannyGrunt (Donna) who passed away this past Saturday April13, 2013. She will be sadly missed here on the Bird Watching Forum. Her captioned photos have brought many of us lots of smiles and laughs!

So very sorry to here that.
I'm very sorry to hear that too.
She will be missed by us and her feathered friends will miss her too.
My heart sank, when I read Nanny's report of Donna's passing. I had not been on this thread since the fourteen. I wasn't able to post on the Memorial Garden thread, because I'm not a subscriber here. I will miss her darling sense of humour. Her talents, and her warm heart.
Don't worry Burn....Donna knows.
The summer birds are arriving. I have seen Brown Thrasher, and an Indigo Bunting while out walking the dog and Seeing lots of Chipping sparrows every where now. The Baltimore Orioles should be arriving any day now.
American Robin gather nesting material. 4/18
Pileated Woodpecker. 4/4
Northern Flicker. 4/16
Nanny, It must seem nice to have the summer birds arriving! Great photos, Really like the one of the Robin on the fence with the nesting material in her beak. ~ That PW looks huge!
It is & I wish I could see one. I have done so (one flew over my head) but I would like to get a good look.
Nice pics all! 100 posts, a volunteer to start Vol. 451, please!
