There is no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.

We are overwhelmed at the kindness of the families at the school where my DDIL teaches. Dinner has been brought every night. They made a huge basket for her to choose a wrapped present to open. Some have been practical(prunes), others pampering, still others raise questions(an old math book for her to keep her mind sharp?) heehee

liked Calvin and Hobbes.

After getting home yesterday I HAD to see the grandies that live around the corner, but there is a bug going around their house and I don't want to be exposed, so I went over and looked in the window to see their smiling faces. Lifted my spirits greatly, but I so wanted to get hugs.

“To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one’s self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived—this is to have succeeded.”
Bessie Anderson Stanley(1879–1952)
