WTH! It's 18 this morning burrrrrrr, cloudy with a high of 35 today.
Weather In Your Garden # 129
It was cold here yesterday with a windchill of 5, better today, no wind, hi of 39
27 and clear. At least no wind!
Wow Deb! Thats too cold! Sun is out and very bright...going to be a good day. :)
Partly cloudy, 25.....meeting with tree guy to have 2 more pines removed.....
33 and overcast
winter's back for the next 2 days
low was 28° it's 33° right now
23° & partly sunny. Wind not as bad as yesterday but still moving.
Ground frozen, but the sun is out, though I am not until it warms up a tad. Patti
30°F Wind Speed NW 16 G 29 mph Wind Chill19°F (-7°C)
High was only 38.....not very Spring-like.....
It is up to 39°, but most important the high winds have gone.
I was a wimp today and didn't do more than walk around the garden, but DH spent the day on the south side of the house trimming roses. Currently 38. Patti
the weekend will be fine. Wintry mess supposed to arrive Mon. night into tues.
Oh great. We are heading to Vt on Sunday afternoon. DH want to get a couple more days of skiing in before the season is over. I want it over, like yesterday. Patti
It snowed about an inch over night, 19 now high of 36 today.
The temp on the computer reads 29°, but also showing dark instead of dawning so it must be the old reading. The weekend is supposed to be clear, but rain & snow mix for Mon. night into Tues. I doubt if anything will stick very long.
36 now going to 37.. wow... I see white stuff for later on
Sunny but cold which apparently isn't going any where any time soon. 35 with nw wind at 15. Heard long term weather for NE yesterday which said seasonally cold until early April. Grrrrrrr. But maybe that means we will have a late spring bulb show this year unlike last which was so very early. Tower Hill narcissus show had to be cancelled as were all the other NE shows except Nantucket last year because the daffodils had all gone by before the shows were scheduled. Mother Nature keeps us guessing.
Very January-like today....27, cloudy, damp, raw.....2 of my white pines are going down at the moment....I'll miss them, but they were too brittle to be so close to the house......
Sad for you, but better to have a roof than to have a view of the pines. What are you going to do in that space? DH is out cutting back the big bed of Rosa rugosa which will take him all day and part of tomorrow. Too cold for me. Now up to 37.
DH walks around the garden checking on things. Up to 33°. Not my kind of temp in which to be out.
36 and raining
No, not a garden day......I may plant a tall rhodo there, Patti....I have a few in the area that do well.....
Well bit my tongue as shortly after my last post, the wind died and the sun came out so I ventured out to help DH with the Rosa rugosa. By five we had it done and he went off to play hockey. We had to peel off some layers while working. I continued on with more raking, pruning and weedy on the south side of the house. At seven my DH returned home to find me still at it. I am a tired puppy now, but a great day. 35 now with wind out of the south at 3mph.
It is now 34 with light snow. Honest. Patti
snowed on and off all day, very slushy out
high was 39°
they are talking 6 - 12" monday/tuesday
Burr, 18 this morning but fairly clear high of 27 today. Snow on tuesday...a "PLOWABLE AMOUNT"
ugh.. we had snow all day yesterday .. just sticking to the grass.. supposed to be a mess here tomorrow.. 32 now going to 39
29 & sunny. Very light wind for a change. Winter won't give up, will it.
My thoughts exactly Iris....winter will not quit this year! Have not heard any amounts here, it's supposed to change over to all rain....haha. Temp is 27, walk was brisk....Patti, sounds like a good deal of work was done....nothing done here, still piles of snow in the yard.
Woke up this morning with frost on everything, but sunny now and up to 39 with wind NW13 MPH. DH is out hauling to a third burn pile that we have started with all the piles I made yesterday afternoon while raking and pruning. By 7 last night I had hit the wall and couldn't do anymore hauling. Earlier in the day we had already moved to the new burn pile the huge mound of rose cuttings and a couple serious pruning mounds from 3 Buddleja and some spireas that we also cut back yesterday before DH abandoned me to going to play Hockey. We hope to burn the last week in March for at least 3 days if we have some calm days as we need it done before April. ,
We are leaving today for Vt so DH can get in a couple last days of skiing. Then I have a kiln to load on Friday in Boston so no more garden work for me in Nantucket until next Sunday. Low last night was 20. Where is spring? Patti
32 and sunny
Everything was still all white this morning, was supposed to go to an Easter egg hunt, but I thought it was too cold to enjoy it
27 now going to 36.. going to be nasty out this afternoon.. snow & ice on the way :(
17° I didn't realize it would be that cold. Our messy percipatation isn't supposed to start until tonight, so plenty of time to do our Mon. grocery shopping.
We are @ 9 this morning!!!!! High of 33 today, storms starts early evening here.
25 and cloudy. Snow tonight. Up to four inches possible by tomorrow.
Going to miss us
