Started with snow flurries yesterday around 2pm....it's still snowing! We never got over 17 degree's yesterday so this mornings 18 degrees is hopeful. :) High of 30 today with the winter warnings in effect until 7pm tonight.

difficult driving weather yesterday afternoon - driving back from visiting my mother saw at least 10 single cars accidents - called my oldest to warn her not to drive and learnt my youngest slid off the road and totaled her car going 25 mph - she was ok just shaken up from the 360's she was doing.

Oh, no! Glad she wasn't injured, but I can see how shaken she would be, Bill.....Still raining here, but not heavily.....glad I had my rain jacket on, though....

yep not getting hurt was the important thing - it was a good thing she missed all the large trees and only hit smaller ones - took AAA a couple hours to get the car out of the woods - she hit the brakes when she started to slide which she knows was the wrong thing - hard to fight instinct as she was going down a hill - hopefully if it ever happens again she will remember to take her foot of the gas and try to slowly steer the car out of the slide - still that does not always work if momemtum is against you

Will be coaching her before that all important insurance board review so she does not get hit with a surcharge.

Ice is awful....there's not much you can do.....remember while delivering mail, I ended up on top of a bank...this is with 4x4.....had to stay on top of the bank until the sand truck came.....

Glad she's Ok Bill! I cancelled my eye doctors for today, made it for next month because the roads are so bad. :(

Glad she wasn't hurt, that is a horrible feeling when car is spinning and there's nothing you can do

Whoa - glad she is okay. That is scary. Nothing worse than ice. That's what happened to my wife a few years back. Spun around and hit the guardrail.

Misty here....went north to Torrington today...all was fine until I went up a long hill...at the top, all the trees were covered in ice.....just a few miles made all the difference...

37° & more drizzle. We are more towards the coast than Bill so no ice.
