Started a thread last night with a link in it and when I previewed it, it was awful - full of code and no formatting visible. What has happened to make it do that? There really is no point at all in previewing a thread the way it is now.
Ann
What gives with previews?
Case in point -
array(12) { ["tid"]=> string(7) "1286439" ["forum"]=> string(7) "parking" ["body"]=> string(293) "I also thank Babs for the update on Ernie. And Ernie, good going! I designated this thread as "All Saints' Day" and tomorrow is "All Souls' Day". Thought you might find this interesting if you're not sure of the difference. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/1914928/posts" ["userfile"]=> string(0) "" ["extraimg0"]=> string(0) "" ["extraimg1"]=> string(0) "" ["extraimg2"]=> string(0) "" ["extraimg3"]=> string(0) "" ["listimages"]=> string(48) "userfile,extraimg0,extraimg1,extraimg2,extraimg3" ["images_counter"]=> string(1) "0" ["limit_images"]=> string(1) "5" ["action"]=> string(7) "Preview" }
I see that ABOVE the preview, but not in the preview slot.

Can you send us a screenshot? that will help quite a bit.
I also see that above the preview--it's been like that for a while though. If you scroll down below that you should see the "real" preview and it's always looked normal for me.
How do I make a screen shot on a newer computer? No longer have such a key on the keyboard.
Are you on a Mac or a PC?
PC. But strangely, when I did the start for the Coffee and ... last night, I saw no funny codes. But when I sent a link for something else, I did indeed see them ABOVE the preview window. I speculate it's just new and I have to learn where to look. And June's screen shot is pretty much what I'm seeing. It's just that at first there was so much of it I didn't even see the preview window.
My test post was just two short sentences. If you have a long post or one
that includes several pictures the code above the Preview takes up most
of the page. You have to scroll waaaay down to even preview your post.
Ahh...so what you're seeing is the code above the text area too? I'll let the tech team know.
I am seeing code above the Preview, with the text of my post underneath
it, as shown in my screen shot. Once I hit send, my post appears in
the thread without any code.
Thanks.
june_nmexico hit the nail on the head. The first time I experienced it, I had a longer post and didn't even see the preview window.
Thanks. That description helps a lot too.
Yes, I know what you mean. I see the same thing. At first, it frustrated me but I scrolled down and found the words there that I had typed to preview.
I've had no problem with it but is it really necessary to have all of the jumble? LOL
I know nothing about this sort of thing but I am thankful we have people who do know and care to fix it.
Thanks.
Oma
Test the system now....they've worked on it and hopefully it is fixed.
I am testing this.
Excellent. The code at the top of the page above my preview is GONE!
Thanks.
June
:o)
I'll let you know after I start the daily thread this evening.
Ok...just let us know.
It seemed fine. No sign of all the extra codes. Thank you. :-)
Wonderful!
Aw, Now, how are we to learn computer language..lol
