Just curious if anyone else is seeing this?

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

When I post a response on a thread and preview my post, I see the most unusual lingo above my preview.

Is it me? Or is it Memorex... lol
It really doesn't hurt anything but wondered if anyone else is getting the same. Kristi

I saw it once before, and I saw it just now, I think it is some kind of bug.

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks for responding... I worried that the bug may have been mine only. Kristi

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

When you PREVIEW only? I don't want it, you see, and I'm checking to make sure I don't have it.

Oh, yeesh, I DO have it, but it must be DG and not us, that means, unless it's just Texas!

Scott County, KY(Zone 5b)

I have been seeing that in the preview page, too, for the past couple days. Annoying, but not dangerous (I don't think). It looks like the kind of thing you see in you are typing a Word document and hit the paragraph button to see formatting.

I think that is programmer (html or some such) background language stuff...

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I don't want to see html language when I hit preview (she whined).

Naw... we wouldn't be discriminated against. lol

It just was a distraction ~ not really an issue. My main concern (being computer illiterate) was that it warn't just me and my computer.

My worries are assuaged. 8 ) Kristi

I've been seeing it too every time I preview a post. Doesn't seem to have any effect on the final post though, those always seem to go through just fine.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

As is probably evident from the number of typos and so on, I rarely preview unless I'm doing something fancy like italics. (Which is not all that fancy, but I have forgotten to close the italics often enough that previewing is a habit when I use html code.)

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

I got in the habit of previewing when I was on dialup via Possum Bell.
It seemed that extra step made the post go through.
If I just hit Send, it would get lost in Internet abyss.

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

I usually use preview just in case someone else posted something while I was typing, that way I'll get the warning that someone else has posted a response and I can look at their response before I finish posting mine.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

That is odd; I see it too. I'll flag it for our techs to take a look-see. Thanks!

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you Terry. Not a real annoyance... just one of those distractions that was kind of fun when I learned it wasn't my computer or me.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Is it still there? Yes.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 9a)

Mine isn't doing that, but my pix loaded in reverse to how I loaded them, and actually are loading to DG instead of a preview to me, so that when I hit send they are posted immediately after the preview pix pop up...ooooh, I see em for text, didn't see them on the pix I previewed, but its there now!

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

Sounds like you caught this too. LOL It's not really noticeable... just in the way.

Now, the photos loading in reverse would definitely throw a kink in the works.
Especially when you describe what is in them... Kristi

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I am wondering if anything is being done about this problem?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Frostweed, it was reported over the weekend (a holiday to boot :-) - we're having our weekly conference call today and we'll work on it then.

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

I guess we don't think of it in terms of holidays or weekends because that is when we use the site most often. Kristi

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

I've Also saw it here each time i post a message

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

DG is definitely still acting this strange way .....

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you Terry.

Algonquin, IL(Zone 5a)

Add me to the list. Although it looked strange, I thought it was just part of something else DG was changing, like the photo uploader, so I wasn't smart enough to ask anyone about it.

Edited to say: Thank You, Terry!!!! (I accidently missed your last post)

I have it, too.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Our tech team is on it :-)

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks, Terry and tech team!

Algonquin, IL(Zone 5a)

Yes, I agree... Thank You, Terry and the Tech Team!!!

Tiffin, OH(Zone 6a)

Still happening but seems like "no harm, no foul" MW

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

My gripe is about an ad. it comes out of the side of the monitor, covering most of what on the screen. It's about comparing landscapers but is definitiely an ad. I understand that DG need to make a profit but this one comes on over and over again and covers up what I'm typing/reading. They need a better format or all they're going to do is make people angry.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

woodspirit, I disabled the ads on your profile - it is one of the perks of a subscription.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Terry, do they know why we are seeing all the html code when we try to preview posts?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

It's something they're aware of and working on fixing.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks.

Algonquin, IL(Zone 5a)

I'm actually starting to get used to it. Most of the time, now, I just ignore it. Occasionally I turn it into a "word game" and look for the words I can recognize. Whoa... did I really just say that? I think I better start getting more sleep.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Hey nutsabout, it's actually parts of computer code we are not supposed to be able to see. If you get so you can read it, maybe you can get a job as an html code writer. (I only know the parts that work on this site, like < i > or < / i > for italics. Whatever html stands for, the last L is for language. (Here ends the total sum of my knowledge about html, but it's used a lot on the internet behind-the-scenes, as it were.)

Algonquin, IL(Zone 5a)

Carrie - I have tried more than once to learn HTML...each time I pulled out a little more of my hair (ha, ha). It starts out seeming cool, but it's like opening a very large can of worms...the more I read, the more I realize how much there really is. My hats off to those that have a total understanding of it.

I'm with you. I know and use a very few things, patting myself on the back each time I post a word in "bold" or underline something. It's fascinating, but the learning curve is way, way to long for me.

By the way I found this interesting link on "eHOW" that explains how HTML got started and what it stands for: HYPERTEXT MARKUP LANGUAGE

http://www.ehow.com/about_4587811_what-does-html-stand.html.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Yup, nuts, I can underline, italicize and bold, oh, and strike through (remember?) but I agree, that's one curve a little too steep for me.
