2012 N Central TX RU in Burleson-Oct. 6th-*TRADE THREAD #1*

Midlothian, TX

Thanks perkoschilefarm!

Austin

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

Glad to be of service!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I also have some Hill Country Red okra seeds and lemon queen sunflower seeds. Let me know if you're interested!

Hill Country Red okra is VERY prolific and has very large pods. If picked when about 4"-5" long, they are very tender when cooked.

Lemon Queen Sunflower is a very tall and prolific bloomer. There's one really huge flower and then lots of smaller flowers on the same stalk. The bees LOVE the flowers and they are so bright and cheery in the garden. The color of the petals range from soft butter yellow to a darker more traditional sunflower color.

I'll try some of the red okra seeds.

Yes on the paddle plant Michael...forgot to say.
Stephanie...found an Oak Leaf Hydrangea for you.

Got you down for some Michael!

Thank you, Sheila!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Yes, please, perkoschilefarm, on the jade plant. I already killed a tiny one that was nearly dead when I got it. But I love those jade plants. I used to have a huge one. Maybe I left it out too long one fall or something--I forget. But I swear I'll be good to yours!

I have a big flat space next to the window in the bathroom where a plant or five could live happily, and get watered and misted. Whoever had the aloe, I could take that too. I left one with my daughter and she is KILLING it. Arghghgh. Oh, that was perkoschilefarm too! I'd better bring you a whole loaf of bread.

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

Got ya covered Carrie.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks! ^*^ (Note cheesy grin on smily face.) I'd better remind DH of this event a few more times.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Ack! My smily isn't smiling! Oh dear. :( Do we not have those any more?

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Did everyone see I added Mother of Thousands to my trade list. Anybody?

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

Got some Aloe vera and cowpen daisy if anyone wants?

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I'll take anything that can live in a pot, in- or out-side. But I'm not too good at watering stuff outside.

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

My aloes are grown outside in ground as are the cowpen daisies but I know the aloes will grow well in a pot for quite some time so I'll pot one for ya!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks!

Midlothian, TX

Does anybody have anything that can go in a pond or in water? I am doing a little water garden that has a fountain and I would like to add to it. Anything like lilypads are awesome!

Thanks!

Austin

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

Perko, are your aloes winter hardy around here?

Midlothian, TX

I'm not sure who it was but can I have an ELEPHANT GARLIC BULB?

Thanks,

Austin :)

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Austin, gotcha covered on the garlic. They grow during the winter and can handle rain, sleet, and snow during the winter.

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

Dennis last winter they sided back to just nubs at ground level and in spring popped right back up. That said it was not to cold this past winter so not sure how they will fair if it gets really cold like it did a couple years back but could easily mulch over them. Then wait for spring and see what becomes of them. Want to try a couple of them?

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

Sure, I will try one. Thanks!

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh my, have you guys looked at the weather forecast for Saturday? High of 55º. And that's the HIGH. No telling what it will be at noon. My weather app. doesn't give wind forecasts that far out, so I don't know whether we'll need to tie our stuff down or not.

I was out all morning, and this is the news my DH had for me when I walked in the door.

Can y'all hang tough? I'm good to go if you folks are.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

We are hearty folks and will be fine. We'll dress for the weather...in layers! :)

Caddo Mills, TX(Zone 8a)

I have
purple iris
white iris
white lantana
very small oak seedlings
and mystery plants
I got all of them from a friend of mine who recently moved. I can also take some cuttings of red lantana, just let me know.

Midlothian, TX

Thanks Stephanie!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I don't think the weather will be a problem.

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Tina, I would like some red lantana if you have some.

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

Tina could I please have 1 white and 1 purple iris?

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

*******I will be sending out directions probably tomorrow (Thurs),
so make sure you are on the attendance thread!*******

Weather has been much worse before.....Sybil has coffee too! LOL!

Austin....If I get a chance to fish out a lily from the pond tomorrow I will bring you one. I also have pickerl, sweet flag and Lizard's Tail..(all pond plants). If you want some gold fish I am the place to get those too! We had two fish and a friend gave us one more fish in the spring, and over this summer they have multiplied! I counted sixty or more. If you don't have your pond set up now, you could always let me know later.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I will get you some too Michael. Sounds like today is wading day.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Caddo Mills, TX(Zone 8a)

I've got you both down. Tina

Prosper, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Sheila, I'm not sure the skullcap will survive. I might have to bring you some freshly potted starts. Hope that's okay!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Hello Eveyone, don't forget the door prizes and your folding table for you plants if you have one.
See you all tomorrow.
Josephine

That is fine Stephanie. Your B.C. passiflora will be about six just potted up too. Those I had before were mauled by the squirrels and died.
