Today was my library day for getting our children their books for the week. Anyway, I sat and read through some garden magazines while waiting for my preschooler to finish class in the area, as well...to my surprise, or not, I am seeing that other site being promoted in a few of the magazines..Flower and Garden, Lite Cooking, to name a few.
Dave..it seems that many magazines are spotlighting internet garden sites for their readers. Hard copy magazines realize that many of their readers own computers and welcome a garden site full of ideas for their home. It's not a paid ad but the magazine gives a plug to internet sites which their readers may find helpful. My suggestion would be to send your own promo plug to these editors for inclusion into their material (almost like "submit a site" on a search engine).
If I get to write the garden column for my weekly paper, I would be happy to feature the Dave's Garden site. If I wasn't a participant at DG, though, I may not have known about it unless someone brought it to my attention. Maybe free site promotion in the material sense is another branch on the tree to follow, as well :)
ps..I have a bomb of a suggestion..lol..for promotion but I will email it to you for your thoughts :)

Promoting Dave's Garden
Trish, Last month I also sent an email to Gardening How-To(a magazine I have subscribed to for sooo long) to ask them to check out Daves. I hope they took to time to check it out. They do "freebies" to promote their favorite garden web sites. I don't know how far my email went, but I did want them to know about Daves. Lisa
I'd love it if people would let their favorite mags know about DG. I think DG is good enough for any gardener who is online to enjoy.
Maybe I should come up with a 50-word or less "elevator summary" that people can send along, that nicely and quickly describes DG.
Dave

By the way, Dicentra - I haven't gotten any mail from you.
