Morning Glories 2012 # 05

Gautier, MS

Hope your spraying works to get rid of those spider mites. I hate bugs but have to spray my plants too.

Today had 2 funny small blooms and 1 nice size.

Love those blooms everyone! Amazing all the colors and variations there are. I could look at morning glories all day! Only wish they had a pretty scent!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Gorgeous blooms Helena.
I only have 2 open today. Over 100 mg's and I have 2 vines blooming, just ridiculous
Guess I will carry them into the backyard. At least they will get dappled sun out there.
So hopefully more blooms.

My Blue Lav Beauty had a Lav star today, thanks to Becky for this beauty!!

Love that blue colors Jackie. All very pretty blooms.

We had heavy rain yesterday, so just one nice bloom today and the rose that just couldn't stand up to the rains.

Here's the progress of my project on it's 5th year, I with try to stick with this for at least 5 more years. Wish me luck;-)
#6 There were 3 identical seedlings w/ sissors, broad, and round cotyledons, I chose the one with round cotyledons because I favor the large-flowered phenotype. I'll see if the checker-like pattern still shows up.

Nice blooms Helena. Love the purply blue Tie Dye. I had a bloom similiar but the bugs ate most of it.

I took this at 6 pm last night. It was still 103 degrees here so the fog is from the outside heat and its effect on my camera. After a few minutes, that would have stopped but I couldn't stand to stay out in the heat any longer. This is the mutant faded to a lovely violet color.

#2 is the Tie Dye destroyed by the pests. Would have been my 1st Tie Dye bloom this season.

Beautiful blooms Jackie. Love your youjiro and mutant and other flowers too. I still see Pandy blooms along the road to my house, mine has stopped blooming though.

Nice blooms Jackie and helen, I like your tie-dye purple and your daisies

Here are some for all of y'all, tie-dye pink and lavender, and a red "mandevilla", I keep gettin' the name on this one mixed up.

Helena I see your Tie dye is a purple, like mine. I know I planted Blue Tie Dye sds from Parks, oh well, lol
I have a Blue Tie dye in a pot so might still get my blue one.
Tony nice Tie Dyes you've got going.

Norfolk, VA

Thanks jackie, your tie-dye is gorgeous even though the bugs got into it, try this organic, chemical-free remedy, puree 2 habanero peppers and let set in 1.5-2 quarts of very hot water for at least six hours, strain pulp and seeds and place in spray bottle and spray away;-) the pests are overwhelmed by the capsican of the habanero pepper and may boost the growth of your plants:-) handle habanero and ghost peppers with extreme care! hopefully that helps.

Other than that, I'm trying to get different shades of tie-dye pink and tie-dye blue on white in my F2 grow-out.

Tony

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Tony, I know the Capsican pepper is effective on pests but I don't know if I have the energy to do all that
I've just used a systemic on a few of my vines to see how that works. Applying 1/2 tsp to a pot is a lot easier than trying to spray all the lvs, front and back. I've got at least 80 vines and maybe more.

I love the F! in your picture above, the pink is a beautiful shade.

Gautier, MS

Jackie, that bloom is from Q1298, the color changed a bit. I don't know if it's b/c of all the rain and humidity we are having here.

Tony, you do have some very pretty blooms. I like your tie-dyes, very pretty. I'll have to try your pepper remedy with caution. Anybody handling those peppers should wear gloves or even ziplock sandwhich bags to protect their hands. My daughter suffered burns for a couple of days after chopping them up, I thought she knew better.

Only bloom today, my potted volunteer. Started a few more seeds last night from Onalees.

I'm just photo happy this morning with my tie-dyes, please pardon me;-)

Helen- good idea to wear gloves when handling them things!

Beautiful showie tie-dye blooms Tony!

Helena, I love your pretty volunteer with the dark color combination.

Pretty Tie Dyes Tony. I'm very partial to those anyway, always have been. Loved my Pink Tie Dye last yr.

I did have a pretty Hige today. .
The higes that came back up on the fence this yr, have not been blooming like last yr,
guess its the horrible heat

Thanks Jackie. I really like the tie-dye kind of blooms too, yours was very nice. Love your dark hige. I've got a few I'm trying to grow.

Raining some more here!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena. We got a little rain last night, better than nothing.

This mutant looks like the Youjiro in the tub out back. I wonder now if I planted a mutant sd
in that tub. The bars do resemble the 7 bars on the Youjiro from a few days ago.

It's a very pretty bloom Jackie. I do that all the time too, plant something and forget where or the name of it. Glad you got at least a little rain, I'd be glad to send you ours your way.
We have just a bit of sunshine but don't know for how long today.

Only these 2 blooming today and maybe the little red-orange ones too.
