He calls us the 'shutterbugs'

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Welcome to BETTY's ROOM! lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Woke up to a light mist, sat having coffee wondering when it would clear so I can get the grass cut then suddenly a downpour..looks like a raining day or at least rainy morning..cooling things down.

There is a Riley....came in long enough to eat and begged to get out

Remember to send Stacey your pictures as she is not on DG any longer. Send them to fairy104@gmail.com
I know she would love to see them all.
The generator only took care of the refrigerators, a light and the TV so if electric is still out today I will have visitors. We are supposed to be in the high 90's today so I may get to play with Jonathan in my air conditioning.
As for eye candy, we decided that you must be buff and good looking to be in the Canadian police. The American side should learn a lesson!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Let's hope they get the system up and running...will send some photo's to Stacey, thanks for the e-mail!

I'll have to post photo's of local police, think Joyce and I made their day having them stop the vehicle just so we could snap photo's lol

There were 3 police cars in the parade, we snapped 2...Paul shook his head, asked if we were going to make the 3rd policeman feel bad by not taking his soooo we told the 3rd police we were looking for eyecandy..he laughed

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL! Eye candy! I agree about the american police! Some should go through the military fat boy program! Don't know how they can chase the bad guy!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh, Marion....BJ says the eye candy from next door to her is divorced now.......you planning a trip to Texas yet????? ;o)

Does this picture remind you of the steps at BJ's?

Everyone went home with a homemade mushroom from me!!!

Betty ended up with 4 or 5, but here are the original 3 I made just for her.

Here is the queen on her throne...color coordinated, of course!

Finally, the picture that Joanna painted and gave to Betty.

Now you want to talk about a serious crafter?????

First is BJ sneaking a look at the paints on the top shelf....

Then we have the paints by the craft table (one of 5 tables)...

And finally, the wall of paints!

Betty, the only thing I haven't seen here yet and I wonder why is this? Did you have the ladies all do a craft? For some reason I thought you would do that as well as packing their days with fun....Just curious.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Love those mushrooms, you are going to do a tutorial aren't you???
BJ, I love that painting your Sister did for Betty. She is so talented!

I think Betty needs a few more paints??? LOL!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Goodness there was no time for a craft. I had Betty busy in the craft room adding all my Gkids to the Nana Quilt. I must take a picture of that. Dad is going to sand and finish the quilt hanger, Betty, but we're waiting for the weather to cool off a bit first.

I fell in love with all the linoleum "rugs", and took pictures of them. The only one I didn't get was the one that I want to try to make that's in the loo....could you take a picture of that for a reference for me???

Here are some of her beauties...

BJ, I had 180 pictures, but if you remember, I had to delete some to take the last of the trip!

Bill has made the picture of our group hug our new wallpaper.

It was way cool....I know Betty took us there for the guys...but all of us loved it. It's also where I did my rock smooching....they look lovely in my garden! Can't understand why they were all laughing at me, I proudly admit to being a rock hound!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Sailor was a real sweetie, as well as Missy. Can't believe I didn't get a picture of her. She slept with me one night!

Can't begin to tell you what a good little boy, Jonathan was (and is). Nary a peep in the backseat except when his water bottle was empty! Since I was reading most of the way there (and back), the backseat was really quiet!

Armwraps abounded....here my lil injun, and me.

Here, hugs with BJ, too.

Janice enjoying the scenery in Betty's yard.

Thank you, thank you for posting all the pictures! Wasn't as good as having been there but atleast I feel like I shared some through these.

Love the rug pictures!!!!

Announcement: I don't got no talent like Betty!!! LOL Just warning all.......however, I DO enjoy good eye candy. Hummm might have to go visit BJ. Nope, I think I like looking better Still think we all might need to plan a trip to Costa Rica...talk about goooooooooood eye candy.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Stacy and Little man enjoying each other..

One of the black squirrels that abounded in Betty's neighborhood.

Ned and Sophie....enjoying their rest after the parade. (Betty's granddogs...she'd take Sophie (light one) in a heartbeat!)

Greg...Betty's son. (He thought we were church ladies, or a photo club....poor thing...has no idea.

Lots of fun and good fish....what a treat! (Thank you again, Betty....)

Cookie, what a beautiful picture of your Dad. His smile is so wonderful....I think he was glad to see you. Love the lilies and waterfall.

Victoria Harbour, ON

L O V E. the photo's Joyce...ahhh can you come back with hubby and help me build a pond. Please please??

Ahhh I'm sure your dad missed you, likely was putting pressure on Don! Lol

You tempt me to buy water lillies but that will have to wait..

Mg back garden is bright with painted daisies and daisies, from here on in all downhill in the gardens..oh wait, still more to come..likely the week I'll be away.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Don't forget your tall phlox....they'll be coming soon. My phlox are in bloom now, will probably be gone when the tour comes at the end of the month!

I think you did a fine job on building your ponds. They're so relaxing. After you combine them it will be almost as big as mine!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Yep, Cookie... and Joanna and I kept waiting and hoping for one of those mounted police to visit our (unscreened) window at night. BTW... we did screen the window with some screening we found in the closet... then Betty found the screen for that window and put it in for us... even though, was totally accessible by those hunks... and they didn't even try.

I was totally blown away at how much paint Betty owns... sheesh. But then I reallized, she teaches, and her friends and students are always welcome in her craft room... so I suppose she needs that much on hand... but still, I was blown away.

Thank you LK... and thank you too Cookie or posting the picture from Joanna... she does love painting birds.

As far as the eye candy from across the street... He doesn't come to his lake house as often anymore... and rumor has it that he might be selling sometime soon. So, if you're going to get one last look... you might want to hurry. I miss him too, he's been a good neighbor.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Help you build a pond? Betty... you have TWO really lovely ones!!! and you want more? LOL

Cookie, you're dad's smile is as infectious as yours is. Love that picture... you really need to frame that one.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

We talk often about how happy we both are. We laugh a lot and smile a lot, too. Guess I got my "up" attitude from him! We are both Aries!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

wonderful picture Joanna painted!
Cookie - your dad's smile is so sweet - obviously you two are related lol
BETTY - wow on the amount of paint!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Joyce went back and looked at your dad's photo and smelled...there was my in to becoming a USA citizen. Lol

As for the paint did none of you check the boxes under those tables..

I took photo's of my other pretties...some garden art from Debbie, sewing from Janice/Stacey and mushrooms from Joyce (shared the ones she left behind with friends) earrings and salt/pepper shakers designed by B.J. Then after Joyce left I found a collection piece, garden girl and a card that i read cried!!

Went fabric shopping this afternoon, came home and fell asleep, can't believe how tired this humidity has made me!!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Where is everybody???? Rise and shine! It's only to get to the low 90's today....whew...we'll need sweaters!

Spent a lovely morning on the swing with Dad..laughing and having a nice chat. Sure will miss that someday.

I may get out into the garden some today. The last two days have been over 100 (rare for Ohio) and Bill said I had to wait. I didn't put up the least bit of fuss over that!

You going to show pictures of your pretties, Betty?

Were the boxes under the table full of paints, too????

Lyndonville, NY

Joyce, I can just see the smile on both of your faces. We are having a "cold front" with a high in low 80's today. Sure hope it is correct! I baked yesterday with the humidity.

Not sure what I am doing today....I have a cat that needs a bath, but not sure I want to tackle that. lol

Debbie

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Have to tell you a funny story, Debbie....Dad told me on the swing this morning.

Sometimes when he gets ready to clean up in the morning he doesn't shut the bathroom door all the way. Seems the kitten usually comes screaming in at a dead run and jumps up on the toilet lid. (We always put it down). Well, this morning Dad had just gotten up and was standing in front of the open lid ready to pee and the kitty comes tearing in and jumps....oh, oh....right into the water she went! Guess she came out in a hurry, too! I was just glad Dad hadn't started to go yet! When he came out she was on the back of the chair that he always passes and pets her and she was there waiting for him, but he said she had an accusing look on her face like he made that happen on purpose!

Lyndonville, NY

ROFL, I bet they both had a very surprised look on their face! It is funny how our fur babies can give us those laughs when we need it, although it may not seem funny at that precise moment.

My wonderful husband put my suitcase away....with all my clothes still in it in the attic, along with my Nook. I had taken the dirty clothes and washed, had them in a bag, but left my heavier clothes in there to put away. You would think he noticed it was still rather heavy.

He made pancakes for breakfast, so I guess I will let it slide. lol

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

My suitcase could stay out for months and DH wouldn't put it away.....guess it's not in his job description! Did he get it back down for you? Bet he did, that Paul's a great guy....

Need to get out and get the hose going again. This is the worst drought that I can remember.. :o(

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ooooh been up early Joyce, thought I'd let you sleep. Lol.

Got to tell you all, sure wish you had taken those toilet paper roll size marshmallows with you, guess who is eating them, give you a guess, not the furries!

Back yard is cut, am thinking of deadheading some of the flowers..will pkgs seed and get them to all of you come fall, I say fall because I've all kinds of seed but I don't know where I put them..maybe I can sneak them over in my car at the end of month..

Joyce those moments with you dad are precious ..sure miss my dad..miss the 'little girl' and being called Sharon..he always called Sharon Betty and Betty Sharon, sometimes I think he would do it purposely...when he did I'd say, I'm Betty dad the pretty ne and he'd say ahhhhh. Lol

So laughing at this mornings kittie tale Joyce..one day when he's no longer with you in body you'll be into the washroom, kittie with you and you will burst out laughing!

Debbie, my guess is he didn't unpack it so when you come to the Elvis festival (almost everything free) you'll be packed and ready..he's thinking. Sheepish grin as Jean would say?

Can't tarry, in for lemonade, another 1 1/2 and grass is cut..then my sewing commitments done, my cleaning inside done and outside yard looking not bad..

Might go next door first and check that lottery ticket and see if she has a few boxes that I can put the spent flower heads in and play at that for the afternoon

Joyce I'm thinking the camera might either be Melanie's or June's so if none of the group say its theirs I'll try to pick it up on my way south if there at an appropriate time
Don't overdo girls

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Did you get my email, Betty??? Hope so. Let me know if you didn't.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Your dad's looking good, Cookie! Laughing hard at the kitty incident! Yep, it's his fault for wanting to take a leak!!

Jonathan certainly has Stacey's DNA stamped on his face. He's adorable. Can't believe close to 2 and he's such a well behaved kid.

Those linoleum rugs are beautiful Betty! Your students must not only covet your talent, but your paint collection too!

Thanks all for the pictures... sob.. sob..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Did get in Joyce, will pass on to Ann as well!

Jaye, I don't do classes but I've friends who get together to paint here once a week, door is open and they know where to find the craft room. Lol

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

ROFLOL about the kitten incident. Kim has a kitten who insist on sitting on the edge of the bathtub when she showers--often as not, she ends up in the tub. Glad to hear they are still friends Joyce.

I so agree with you Jaye about Jonathan looking like Tink. He is adorable----waaa, I want a grandson. Oh well it is what it is.

Betty, you totally exhaust me!!! I used to get up early but the older I get, the later I seem to sleep. That will all change in about 3 weeks when Kim goes back to work. She very rarely leaves without coming to tell me she is off to work and for some reason I can't go back to sleep. Actually get more done during her work year.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Poor Kitten... bet dad got a bit startled too, eh?

WET CAT ON THE FURNITURE !!! bet that went over well with you...

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

No biggie....furniture is old and Dad said she barely got her feet wet.

Just got back from one of my cleaning jobs, had lunch, now I'm off for a second one. I usually try not to do two in one day, but this is my niece's beauty salon and they're only closed on Monday. So it must be done! Geesh....starting out tired, not a good thing!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all...

A month ago was our gathering..just want to tell each and everyone of you just how much I enjoyed your taking time to come and visit..it will be a memory I shall always remember..

As I walked in the gardens this morning I told those pretties 'NOW you bloom' lol

Finally the phlox have bloomed, better late than never
