Tropical Plants and Gardens #119

Sarasota, FL(Zone 9b)

How 'bout the one with the super dark satin leaves on the right? Similar leaf shape to Sophie Cecile, but I don't see the spots?

1 & 2 My Alba Odorata is going nuts in its hanging basket - put up a shoot almost 2ft. tall while I was away! 3. Sophie grew while I wasn't looking too, needs a new pot!

4. I can't seem to find the right spot for Carolina de Lucerna, though. Growing, but leggy . . too much shade it makes dull green leaves with no spots. Now it's making spotted leaves but leggy. Does it want some sun?

Thanks, Elaine!

WHERE do you people get these AMAZING plants?!!!

My dear NEW SISTERS, Debra and Sherry, just left - they are amazing, too! We had a wonderful experience and can't wait for them to come back.

My OTHER SISTER, from another Mother and Father, Patti (Floridaheat) came down while they were here - we had a mini-roundup - can't believe all the wonderful plants these ladies gifted me with! We invited Patti to join us here on the Tropicals forum, so hopefully she will be here soon. She was a very knowledgeable Lady - I hope we can get together soon, too. Deb lives in Kansas, Sherry in Arkansas and Patti lives in the middle of Florida - what a diversity of plants I now have!!!!

Good, Wee'd be like two peas in a pod then!

Kay, Now you need people from across the pond and you will have it all!

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

Ya, Drew - actually, I have a friend who is from Scotland - she lives here as my neighbor 6 months of the year - she gladly smuggles seeds from 'across the pond' over to me.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

They're here, woohoo.

Top row - Talyn Flaherty, Kit Jeans Mounger (what a name)
Bottom row - Julie Vanderwilt, Arabian Sunset and Island Magic

I had to set the two rhizos in clay pots, they were so big they were top heavy.

These came from Greg Sytch in FL and they are supposed to be heat and humidity tolerant plants, well suited to this area.

Kit Jeans has wild, multi layered leaves and Julie looks a lot like a Sophie but fuller.
