Sure thing catz!
North Central Texas RU April 28, 2012 (Trade Thread) #2
I can do that for you, Cheryl! I'm going to cut one back today and there are lots of babies!
Cheryl, I read on the cut worm thread that you've lost some of your coneflowers. I have some that I can share if you'd like some of those, too.
I still have a few so I am ok. Some insects have eaten about half of them down to the crown. No idea what or if they will rebound.

Hello, Texas! I've been watching. Now at least I know where Burleson is (we drove past it on the Austin-Dallas trip). Moving day is getting closer and closer--DD#2 graduates from high school June 2, which is probably the last parental act on the east coast. Then the moving trucks can do their worst.
Thanks Perkos :)
Carrie, not long now :) Be safe on your move!
That's my plan ;o thanks.
Only two weeks to go, and I still have some stuff to give away. Ask and ye shall receive!
Anyone have any spare milkweed of any varieties? My wife and daughter loved all of the monarchs we had last year and want me to maximize my milkweed plantings...
I can't help you this year Dennis but the winter I did all the winter sowing I found mex. milkweed germinated and grew quite easily from seed. Save some seed and give it a try and you will have more than you need next spring.

Baja, I would like a half dozen of the rosemary you are offering and the NOID aloe. I have a borage to offer you, two kinds of spider plant (striped and green), fuschia 4 o'clocks, firespike for humming birds. Want any of these?
Are there any inland sea oats left? if so, I'd like 1 or 2.
Anyone have an agave americana, Marginata? or gray santolina?
Cheryl, any spineless Opuntia left? I decided I need one.
Sheila, at the arboretum sale on Saturday, the sassafras trees were big and cost $70. I did not suppose you wanted one of those. If you do want one of those, I bet they are still there today. So LMK. You can get a bare root one from Arbor Day Foundation on line for $7.
I am bringing some unrooted cutting for baja so there will be one for you. They root pretty easily.

Thanks Cheryl.
Just cut back some of my mint, Mojito, old fashioned (from my grandmother's garden), and catnip. Gave a couple sprigs of catnip to Maizie and she is still rolling around playing with it.
Anyone want me to root these for next weekend?
joy
Yes please Joy. I love that mint.
Kate
I too love that mint so could I get a rooted one from ya?
I'll take a mint, roux!
I have three types, all three? It's no problem, all should be rooted in a couple days.
Joy
All three for me please :)
No catnip for me. I have some of that already, tho the neighbor's cat is destroying it. Just the 2 mints for me.
Baja, I got you an epazote from my neighbor yesterday. He's always offering it to me but I dont know what to do with it so Ive always said no thanks. It has an interesting fragrance? What would you use it for?
I have some rooted forsythia. Anyone want one?
If anyone wants comfrey, a few more have sprung up that I can try to dig up and bring.
Stephanie, I would like some comfrey and if you have another Passiflora foetida, I would love one..
Hi everyone,
I'm not going to be able to make it after all, I'm being inducted into the National Honor Society on Sunday, so family are trying to make it here for that on Saturday. I'm really sorry everyone, I will miss you all.
Steady,
If the neighbor is offering any more can I have some (pretty please) -- mine didn't take this year. You use it for cooking (especially in Mexican recipes -- beans). It's that special little taste that you can never quite figure out what it is.
Thanks,
Kate
Sorry you won't be able to make it Tina, and Congratulations on being inducted into the national honor society!!!
Josephine.
Congratulations, Tina!! What a wonderful accomplishment for you! We'll miss you!
TrishAnn, I'll dig a comfrey for you & put your name on a passi.
Yes I would like a rooted mint of all three please Joy!
Joy = would love the mints and catnip
Tina congrats ans you will be missed !
Epazote is used in REAL Mexican cooking,
and it is very traditional in beans - purportedly
prevents gas but I canr prove that - I always
just soak mine but it gives great flavor to foods
It is also said to repel flies and when cooked
in food will keep you from having "worms"...
it is in the wormwood family
I have some cooking groups on yahoo
real authetntic mexican

in case anyone is interested

Gotcha BB, Marty can I have some epazote as well? Have always wanted to try it.
Hey all, I'll talk to my neighbor and get back to you.
I have 2 small seed grown stevia plants that I started this year from seed I took last year from my plants. Anyone interested just let me know?
Would like to thank you all for the swaps but will not be able to make it this Spring. Hope to see ya'll in the fall.
Perko,
I'd like to try some please. BTW, I have some really beautiful Peruvian Purple Pepper plants (say that three times fast) from seeds you gave me a couple of years back -- would you like some new plants?
Kate
I giggled Baja, when you describe the uses of Epazote. It sounds like the Mexican Vicks and W-D40 all rolled into one!
LMAO
