Lily, what a wonderful surprise to see the swan-congratulations! Great photo with your bluebird looking on.
Gary, your owl photos are spectacular. You sure were fortunate to be so close. I can only imagine what it felt like to actually take the pictures.
Here's one of my mourning doves, a female house finch, a yellow-rumped (Audubon's) warbler, a bewick's wren and a tree swallow.
DAILY BIRD PICS. VOL. 434
Just saw my first Hummer. Woo Hoooooo. Migration maps are at hummingbirds.net.
Oh wow Gary....how awesome!! More owl envy for me!
Teddy, for most us up this way April is a good time to put them out.
Rose what a nice stretch shot of your Goldfinch, Would love to see a little Titmouse, they look so sweet.
Fabulous shots Gary. Only 332 pictures??? I don't think I could control myself, with such a wonderful subject, to photograph . :)
Duc lovely shots of your birds. You have a nice variety.
A Downy WP on the Spruce tree.
A couple of purple finches were fighting over pilled seed on the ground. In spite of our snow overnight I have not seen any birds on the tube feeder. Love the pictures, especially the grey owls, kestrals & woodpeckers.
Beautiful shots everyone ! Nice to see robins in the north again.
Wow...great shots everyone! Gary, loving your Grey Owls and the Ptarmigan!
Fantastic shots folks. Love that Ptarmigan!
Nanny, love all your birds, especially the grackle-so pretty.
Granny, pretty shot of your robin. Sure wish spring come soon.
One of my mourning doves has the tail of a white-winged dove. I'm told it's called a variant.
We're getting some badly needed rain-this female brewer's blackbird seemed to be saying thank you.
Speaking of rain, the lesser goldfinches are loving the rain and the seeds in these weeds.
Not sure this mockingbird was enjoying the rain.
I've had 4 Anna's hummingbirds here for a month-3 spent the winter with me. This one sat close to me as I was photographing the birds on our deck.
Great shots everyone!
I love seeing the Pileated, Hummingbirds, Ptarmigan and all the rest.
Nice shots GG, Nanny and Duc. I am very jealous of the Pileated and the Hummingbird..can't wait for their return.
The American Kestral was not aware of the "no fly zone" established each year by the blackbirds during nesting season. As soon as the Kestal landed in the dead tree he was
quickly dive-bombed by the Red-winged Blackbirds!
I love the piliated wp. We can hear them, but have not seen one for several years.
Nanny, your little junco is a cutie. I still have my little slate-colored one here with the others. They sure are pretty little birds.
Rose, great shots of the kestrel and the bb. I watch the crows attacking the raptors doing the same thing here. Sure is interesting how protective the birds can be.
Here's one from several days ago, a brewer's blackbird showing his stuff.
This house finch was more yellow than red.
This house finch is more orange.
This white-crowned sparrow is starting to show adult colors of black and white on his head.
This is such a great thread. I love everyone's shots and thanks, Rose, for such a brilliant start.
Just a couple from over here. Our heat persists and so I haven't been out much. First two shots are of a juvenile Western Magpie (not related to the Magpies of the northern hemisphere). This one is about five months old and has been accompanying its parents here since it fledged. Leave a door open and all three will wander into the house for a sticky beak. The last shot is of a couple of Little Corellas in our big eucalyptus, which is flowering profusely at the moment.
Gary love your Owls and the Ptarmigan. That Ptarmigan must of been hard to spot, in the snow?
Duc It fun to see the difference in color in your House finch. You have some great pictures of your birds.
Aww the Pileated WP is always a welcome sight, Nanny. Can't wait to see the Killdeer. The Red-winged Blackbird and a Robin, anf Grackles showed up today. But they have not stop for a bite, except for the Grackle.
Rose sad to see the Kestrel are being chased by the Red-winged. But I'd do the same, if something would treaten my family.
Hey GG, got some male Purple finch snapshots for you, showing his face profile, for you. ;)
Interesting bird that Magpie, it's legs seems to be bending the wrong way, Margaret. what did you do to it? :) Those Carellas are always seen in pair, do they mate for life? Love those birds.
The deform bill on this Mourning Dove doesn't seem to bother it at all. He eat well. A Chickadee has been checking one of the birdhouse, It's a bit early for nesting, but he's not procrastinating on finding a home.
Nice shots, Burn. I see what you mean about the Magpie's legs, Burn. It's just the angle I've taken the photo at. I promise you, it's legs are on the right way round. LOL
Wonderful shots folks.
Those Magpies coming into the house is too funny. Glad you explained what was going on with the legs--I thought it was "knock-kneed" LOL The Little Corellas are beautiful. So is that tree.
Thanks Burn, I love the Purple Finch pictures. It's about time! LOL
Margaret, I love that juv magpie and the corellas are so beautiful together.
Burn, great shots of your purple finch. Glad the dove is surviving with that bill.
These house finches looked cute-they were all looking up and watching for the 2 red-tailed hawks that had been kiting above them earlier.
Here's some photos of my tree swallows. They're not yet staying near the houses on our deck, but they do come and look at them every day.
Haven't been here in awhile. Too many nice pics and birds to comment on them all. I'm down in the SE corner of OK for a few days. Managed to see a couple of endangered Red-cockcaded WP's. Got some rarity photos for confirmation, but not worth posting, the birds were extremely wild.
Ran across this loon in the middle of Broken Bow lake and just eased up to him in the boat. Quite a ways south for this guy.
Adel, very nice series! I've started a new thread, please everyone come and join in. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1247847/
