She's precious! That is an incredibly beautiful picture and I love the crocheted hat. It makes me coo. I'll have to show my daughters when they get home. There will be squeals of delight!
What a beautiful baby!!!!!
What is the 22nd one? I love it. Great pictures!!!
Beautiful Jamie! Love the yellow look of that Sinn.
Lynn
Very cute. What's the white stuff you have in the pot Maria?
Lynn
Thanks Lynn. It was packed for shipping with some cottony staff, have no idea what it was. Good for keeping soil in the pot.
I use those flat round cotton disks they have in the cosmetic and baby departments. They work great and are super cheap.
Good Sunday morning to you friends!
Eileen,Congrats on your new great grandchild. She's a beautiful little girl.I think you won the blooming beauty's picture for this month
Jamie, your plants are beautiful as always.
carpathiangirl, that a very pretty violet and your new one is so tiny but will be a beauty when it gets blooming size.
My noid episcia needs to be topped and restarted cause it's long and lanky from growing in natural light but the darn thing won't quit blooming. It love's the soda bottle waterer.

Thanks Jan. Ain't those soda bottle pots wonderful? I made my first too and love it, now not a single one gonna be wasted. Your episcia looks great, she probably thinks she's a kohleria, hehe
Can't wait to see Olaf's pictures as well
My vote goes to darling Ava too!!!!!!
Maria
Jan,
What a bunch of blooms on that Episcia and very clever pot.The plant reminds me of Butternut.Did I send that one to you?
Lynn
Although there is still snow on the ground here, there are a few AVs starting to bloom in the house. The first is Thunder Surprise, one of my very favorites. As you can see from the picture, the flowers are an amazing lavender, edged in green. When the blooms really get going, you cannot see the plant, there are so many flowers. The second one is White Madonna. Lovely girl-type foliage with a pure white flower with the yellow pollen sacs in the center. These will have to hold me until Spring comes.

They are beauties Earle!
Those look great, Sally!! You are taking good care of them and made some lovely choices of plants. Spring will be here soon!
Earle G
Wonderful photos. Love the "My Precious." Sally 0, they are so happy and healthy in the semi hydro.
Earle, glad you are getting spring there. We have mind winters.
Hi Sally,
Not sure about Spring yet. I can still see snow out my window. Currently, New Hampshire is in the middle of a local phenomenon known as 'mud season.'
Earle G
Karen,
Love that Episcia!
Earle.......'mud season' ?
Lynn
Hi Lynn,
'Mud season' comes every Spring in New Hampshire for a greater or lesser time period. It is that time of year between the melting of the snow and enough sun to dry out the dirt roads. Last night's local news featured pictures of cars and even one school bus stuck in mud up to their doors. Right now I have a dirt road running beside the house where I cannot walk with the dog for fear of leaving my shoes behind. Warmer weather next week should help alleviate the problem.
I hope Spring is approaching in your neck of the woods.
Earle G
Earle,
It gets a little like that here when we have a lot of snow, but this was a dry year. This past week has been sunny for the most part and 70's and 80's.It can't last....we usually have snow and cold into March and even April.Average planting date is May 10.Sometimes it rains so much and the nights get so cold I can't get anything into the ground until June or even late June.
Lynn
Earle- love your violets. My White Madona is having trouble putting out girly leaves. Mine has regular leaves. I think it my be the 'other' White Madona, but mine has double flowers like yours,. The 'other' is supposed to have single blooms.
Very pretty violets, Sally0. very healthy.
VA wild rose -Love the yellow epicia. wish I had one.
Hi Eileen,
Didn't realize there were two 'White Madonna's. I checked the AVSA database and it indicates the 'other' is supposed to have single star flowers and dark green foliage. Mine is definitely girl foliage and double white flowers. Looks just like the picture in the database. There is no picture of the other one.
Earle G
earl, I really don't know what mine is. It came to me as White Madonna. It has double flowers, but leave are not girly. It still has the youg baby leaves in it, and the new leaves look different. Maybe the leaves will now come in girly. Here's two pictures, one of blooms and leaves, and the other is just the bloom.
Hi Eileen,
You definitely have a mystery there. The leaves on your plant are not 'girly' leaves and I wouldn't expect them to change at this point. I have half a dozen 'White Madonnas' that I started from leaf cuttings last fall. They already have the girl foliage even though small. The flowers are dead ringers for what my plant is producing. Gotta love a good mystery!

Hope I don't stir up any trouble by asking this...
Does anyone have contact for Gail from Taft, TX?
She used to go by gessiegail on here.
The reason I am asking is that she used to keep a ton of Streps,
And she may have some of the varieties I can't seem to find anywhere.
I'd like to check with her for them.
How about bigoldbuck701... Jim I think?
Same reason...
You can d-mail me if you have info.
Thanks in advance!
Karen
I wish I knew were they were too! I miss them both. They grew some gorgeous streps. Hope someone can leas us to them. Maybe they are on another forum. I've been searching, but I haven't found them yet.
Hey everyone!
Had to take a little break from posting due to moving. I also had to get rid of many of my plants but was able to keep my miniatures and quite a few of my Kohlerias. It's all good. :)
I am in touch with Gail and know that she doesn't grow Streps anymore. Maybe a few but not to the extend that she used to.
Here's Sinningia 'Country Crocus' being absolutely unimpressed by the move... LOL
Olaf!!! glad you're back, started worrying about you. Hope your plants will love the new place
Thanks, Maria!
Well, the new place is an apartment with full Southern exposure on the 20th floor. No window sills. Not loving it but I will cope. Gotta be crafty... LOL
Well, and before you ask: I moved there because it's wheelchair accessable for my partner and that was more important than my plants. The decision was between accessability and living on the third floor with no elevator... :)
Olaf
Hey,glad to see you back Olaf! We miss ya dude.Accessability for your partner is more
As for no window sills for your plants check out youtube for window gardening.Theres some great ideas there.
Jan
Thanks Jan!
Practical as usual! ;) Thanks for the tip!!!
Olaf
Welcome back Olaf!
Karen,
If nobody has answered you I am in touch with both Gail and Jim.
Lynn
Welcome back Olaf. Missed your pictures and postings. We do what we have to do, to keep us happy and safe. Our gessies are an added bonus. Mine are all going great. I'm waiting for the RR to get off the ground.
@Karen---you can find Jim at the funwithgessies forum.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/funwithgessies
I miss seeing gessiebgall's posts and pictures here. I feel she was booted unfairly. We lost a great member. She has some great looking streps. I know she also grew hoya. She may be on funwithgessies too, but with a different user name.
Thanks for the info imadigger... I have asked to join their group.
Lynn, do you know if Jim still has a lot of Streps?
Olaf, you say Gail is no longer growing Streps?
Thanks all!
