Miscellaneous Shots 2012 - No. 1 'WAITING FOR SPRING'

Thomaston, CT

Well, both I guess.....nothing like putting things into perspective by just going out to look at the night sky.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, that is really awesome.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

360 degree view of the night sky is unbelievable! Reminds me of a religion teacher telling us as kids that if we could perceive the beauty of the night sky entirely, it would kill us with awe. Guess having only a photo makes it safe to look.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Some shots from my visit to the WTC Memorial.

1. My close HS friend, Steve, an ESU cop.
2. Friend of the family, a LT in the FDNY.
3. People touching the names.
4. The 'survivor tree', the only tree to make it through.
5. Fireman's helmet.

2. The Freedom Tower, or 1 WTC - more than 90 stories high now.

You just gave me goosebumps

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Have to admit that I have a tough time even posting these.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

One of the unfortunate things that I am sure the designers did not anticipate is that the east side of the north pool is always wet from the wind picking up the water from the fall and creating a spray. Feel bad for those with loved ones names on that side. Hope they address that.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

nice shots victor, i understand how it is even more emotional when it is personal

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

This lends a sense of scale.

Thanks, Bill.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I wanted no pics of myself or the kids. Just felt wrong. Did not even try for 'interesting' shots as I would normally do. Just felt I wanted to document it and get the he** out.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Thank you for sharing with us, Victor. Your emotions are palpable. Understand how difficult this was for you.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Very emotional just seeing those few pics

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

I am especially taken by the fireman hat pic.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I agree even that is emotional for me

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Lovely photos Victor and im so glad families and loved ones have a place to go to mourn. I'm sorry it was so painful for you, small condolence that so many were feeling the same way. Thank you for sharing.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thank you, ladies.

Thomaston, CT

I agree, Victor.....I have tears on my face right now.....just thinking about that day shakes me...thank you for bringing the boys to see it...this is a part of your life, and they should share it.....

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Very moving, Victor...I can't imagine the emotions you must have felt there.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

You know how anal I am about color coordinating my gardens..well this bloomed today and is NOT what it is supposed to be...grrrrrrr

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

It was supposed to be 'George' that looks like this...

I emailed High Country Gardens and they will either replace them or send me refund....waiting to find out if I have to wait for them to ship the replacements in the fall

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Victor the hands touching the names is especially moving. I can't even imagine what it must have been like to see that. Thank you for sharing I know it must have been hard for you ((()))

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

still a nice one jen - good luck with george

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yep it's still a nice one that needs to be moved...just totally screwing up my color scheme

Thomaston, CT

Color scheme? You have to have a color scheme? My garden is such a mish-mash....I just call it 'Country".

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Ya, that's in my berm that is charteuse and maroon/ reddish purple/hotpink

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

cottage is the correct term RD.. LOL

Thomaston, CT

Woodpeckers love those trees! I have 2 apple trees & a pear that are hollow inside like those....animals must live in them, because Suey sticks her nose in them!
