Did he know the woman? Maybe someone hired him to....you know....
Coffee Break #70 It's 2012!!
Could be. In that case it's justified. ^_^
what kind of punishment would the hunter get if convicted?
When did this happen? Here are the Mass state law. Since he is a Trooper the whole thing will get thrown under the desk.
(c) Shotgun season (Zones 01-14): this 12-day season begins on the Monday after Thanksgiving and ends on the second Saturday thereafter;
(d) Primitive firearms ("muzzleloader") season: this season begins on the third Monday after Thanksgiving (i.e., the Monday after the close of the 12-day shotgun season) and ends on December 31. Thus, there are a variable number of days in this season.
Just brought in more bags of pellets to the garage. Then took one bag inside and loaded the hopper. As I was pouring it in, I noticed a funky smell. Looked down and saw the bottom of my parka was melting against the side of the stove! First time I ever got too close in seven years with it. The problem is with the drawstring, the bottom of the parka (LL Bean) puffs out. Oddly enough, I have a new parka from Sierra Trading Post on its way. Weird, and a bit scary!
Is nothing sacred?

I'd rather hear that about a bishop than hear he was abusing boys.
the hunting accident happened this past weekend - celeste i agree 100% - the woman is recovering and her husband has been on the news defending her since most blame her for being out in the woods -i think it is crazy
it was an accidental shooting - trooper should lose both his hunting license and license to carry a weapon, and be responsible for civil damages. the women is just lucky it was not worse
the local police here have the same attitude - several years ago i complained about these ninja bow hunters on conservation land - they just ignored my complaint.
Does anyone remember the woman who was shot by a hunter several years ago while she was hanging wet laundry out on her clothesline to dry?
The hunter said she was wearing white mittens, which resembled the white tail of a deer!
(If I recall correctly, he received little or no punishment.)
edit: hunting licenses are being given to Mr. McGoo.

Yay Sherrie....you are grandma to twins! Names? Going to be tough raising them by herself...how far away does she live? Bill, I heard the hunting story...it happened at dusk...he should have been through hunting at that time, because obviously he couldn't see enough to tell a deer from a dog...didn't shoot the dog anyway, he shot the woman. And was he wearing enough orange to be seen? There was a nasty 'accident' in the next town several years ago....folks had a vacation home, land was posted....some guys were using the land to hunt, & shot & killed a golden while it was standing with a 12 year girl & her father in the driveway! The hunters were charged...duh.....Yes, BA, I remember that....she had twin babies she had just put in for their nap.....and who did he think the clothes on the line belonged to....the deer?

Ans since when does a deer have TWO tails high up in the air?
Geez Victor ya gotta watch that stove....I leaned on it once by accident...WOW that's hot!!!
wow that will be hard for her Sherrie.. hope she has help
my friend down south jersey puts orange blankets on her horses during hunting season.. those ya hoos will shoot anything moving .. god forbid one of them gets out of the pen.. those blankets are worth every penny
Yes, it's super hot. Especially now when it's constantly going.
i heard of the women BA - unfortunately it is a free for all in deer season - it will take a few more "accidents" before a change is made.
there is a deer stand across the pond in my backyard - closer than the 300' required - i let this pass as the owners have let me move a lot of stone to my property - tomorrow the ice should be thick enough to get across the ice - i will make enough noice to be noticed although no bright clothing - need some flat stone :)
We now post our NH land as a result of my taking our three dogs (one was a golden) out our back door when 3 hunters walked from our woods right into our back yard with guns raised. They aren't supposed to get that close to a house, but so many of the hunters today have no clue about the etiquette and rules of hunting. My father taught me to shoot a rifle and to know how to be a responsible hunter, but it seems that many of the hunters we see on our road have to set their beer bottle down every time they want to fire their gun. Now that I'm older, I know I couldn't kill any animal. I'm sure that doesn't surprise anyone here! Lol. I do recall my defending a few Bambis on the threads here. :)
Way too many irresponsible hunters out there.
Friend on fb is on the way to the ER her son shoved an eraser up his nose and they can't get it out....ROTFL
Oh goodness! Try a pencil up the other nostril!
oh how terrible
my brother did that with a grape when we were kids - i d o i t :)
Funny way to end my day!!
Whoa, reading all these posts, I feel that I will never step foot in the forest again, maybe not even my backyard, for fear I'll get shot! I took my son hiking last week and didn't think twice about hunters because I don't hunt. No one I know hunts and so it was the farthest thing from my mind. Perhaps we were lucky!
I paid a trip to the emergency room as a child. My best friend stuffed a pussy willow bud in my ear and we couldn't get it out. Silliness.
Wow - I wasn't sure where you were going with that, Harp!
Not to worry, Harp. Usually no hunting in our parts - especially where hiking trails go.
Ever see those X-rays of crazy things people had inside them? People do weird things.
Yep people are nuts
My wife saw a video in med school that showed a lot of that. You would to believe some of them.
They have a show on TV about people who have odd cravings/habits. It's called "MY Strange Addiction" , watched it once out of curiosity. Just once, that was enough for me.

I guess I am too old for the world.
Casual noticing of odd-balls in everyday life is bad enough without haveing them organized and run thru my TV is waaaaayyyy toooooo much.
Same goes for hoarders.
There is definitely a lot of trash on TV.
Going out for breakfast with a friend this morning. In the mood for a pecan pancake.
Going to the doctors this morning, finally found a doctor. This will be the first time in many, many moons ...since Brian was injured and our reg. Doc retired in 2003.
We can see several hunting blinds from out house. Lots of corn fields around and the owners give hunters permission to use them in the hunting season. My SIL gave me an orange baseball cap, mittens and ski cap the first time he came to visit. He's a hunter and knows that many of them shouldn't be allowed anywhere near here.
His son is about to be born today, so we will be leaving soon to help with the 5 year old.
Will be looking for updates on new grandybaby. Blessings!
congrats Roses
The lady that got shot was walking in woods that border her backyard..............
Let us know the details when it happens Teri.
This one is hard to believe! I guess the answer is "Only in America".

Good grief! Talk about a freak accident.....Started today on the wrong note....lost part of my back tooth while eating breakfast....took the dog for her walk, & on the way back home stopped at the dentist to make an appt. They actually took me right in, xray, whole 9 yards, then told me I needed a crown...lovely...this will be my third!
