Me too! Wow look at that Jade green color of the Double-crested Cormorant. Great pics. as usual Burd. Ladi_Burd congrats on your 'lifers'! Beautiful Wigeon.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Got behind so will just tell you all that I loved your photos. Red that buck is handsome.

This sharp-shinned hawk stayed around my seed feeders for two days. Thought he'd get smart and hide under a tree.

A sparrow came out from the brush and the hawk made a dive, missed the bird and stood there looking all around like it couldn't believe it had missed.

Found this Western Bluebird at a local park.

Congrats on the lifer Ladi-Burd and Burd! Nice pics everyone. Love the hummers. Saw one here too. My friend tells me this is a Rufous.

I love all the flowers and seeds in this pic of a Golden-crowned Kinglet.

Oh and Duc, those Sharp-Shinned pics are amazing. I have a group of 3 Cooper's that are hunting the yard so relentlessly that I haven't had to fill the feeders in two days.

Here is a Red-shouldered.

I was going to stop there but what the heck -- one more -- a Vermillion Flycatcher with a Red-winged Blackbird I think but it might be a grackle.

Elphaba, That is a gorgeous shot of the Red-tailed Hawk! Duc, Love the Sharp-shinned too.

Great photos everyone!

Good 'dee dee dee' sung at me while I was weeding. friendly little birds.

Mount Pleasant Mills, PA(Zone 5a)

Great pictures folks. Love those jade green eyes on that Cormorant. I saw quite a few Juncos while I was outside working today. Wonder if Scooter is among them?

Had a White Breasted Nuthatch strike a window today. I got to it right away and held it until it caught its breath. After about 15 minutes, it joined its friends at the peanut feeder but not before leaving a little "deposit" in my hand when it departed. LOL

Not Fair.....2 of you get a Snow Goose Lifer and I have been trying to find one for 3 years! Congrat Ladi_Burd & Burd!!!

Norman, OK

Some great pics and birds! Really like the eagle, Burd. And that RT, duc. I went looking for longspurs and Lark Buntings today, but found this little male kestral and one great shot of a running buck chasing a doe. The bucks are rutting and careless, I've gotten some good shots in the past week. They are on my flickr stream under the name 'reddirtpics'.

The kestrel.

Elphaba, great photo of the that rufous. Loved that red-tailed photo and the rest of your birds-such a great variety. Sorry to hear the hawks are pestering your birds too.

Granny, glad your little nuthatch recovered. lol the deposit!

Red, pretty kestrel. It's rutting season here too. We love seeing the large bucks on our morning walk. They all look worn out from chasing the girls all night and can barely make it across the street.

This male Brewer's Blackbird seemed to be telling the little woman to wait her turn.

I believe this is a female Brewer's Blackbird with the gold eye of a male rather than the black eye. She's been around here for a couple weeks now and is still the light brown coloring of a female.

Two of my intergrade Northern Flickers have returned again this year. This one has the red chevron on the back of the head and the red mustache. This is a red-shafted but we've also seen the yellow-shafted here too.

Love the upside down Bushtit. Too cute.

Boys! Nan, that must have been some sight to behold!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Lot of turbulence fronts heading our way. Birds are real busy picking up berries, do they store them like woodpeckers do? They are also seen checking out nest boxes for possible shelters in the garden as seen here with my lovely Blue Bird checking out the used to be White-Breasted Nuthatches' home.

WBNHs nearby, the pair eventually ran my Blue Bird away from their home later in the evening.
