I was surprised at how many leaves we could just mow over, but we only have a couple trees. DH has a riding mulching mower so I'm sure that helps too.
Northeast Gardening: Weather In Your Garden # 108

49 now going to 63
Overnight Low of 33 F and currently 53 F and overcast. The test camellia in its pot truly didn't care how cold it was last night. Today is the day to spray the rhodi's with antidessicant since it's over 40. Still picking up sticks and small branches, as they just keep falling down. (A walk in the neighborhood showed that the little parks have turned into dumps for the big branches). The mulching mower can handle a pretty big pile of leaves, but mostly they just blow away, so we get little benefit ourselves. We have to rake a lot of areas too.
Our house was snaked into a woodsy area. Real woods in the back couple acres, but of course we would not rake those. 59° but with the wind, it feels colder.
54 and gloomy. temp dropping this week to mid 40's.
Soil was very dry today. The autumn wind has made some very thirsty plants here. Temp did climb to 64F though.
It reached 68° today but a sharp breeze made it feel cooler. Last day like that until late spring--my prediction.
Oh, Iris, I hope not! It was 65 here and I could have done much more outside, but I decided to take a friend for an ice cream so she could get out for a bit......opened many windows in the house & it smells so fresh.....
By the way it's Nov. giggles.
Hi all. Spent the weekend with my book dealer friend in CT. Had great time. Wonderful weather this weekend.
