Here's a white-breasted nuthatch on a granary.
Daily Bird Pics. Vol. #419
Thank you Nanny for the response. I'll just leave things be for awhile. The weather is definitely getting colder, so we'll see.
That Bonaparte's Gull is amazing, Burd-fotos. And love the little Junco, Ducbucln. I've been doing a bit of camera grabbing myself to get these sweet fellows (and gals)
This is one of my recent favorites. I just ordered a batch of greeting cards with this being the centerpiece.
Burd, what a great shot of the Bonaparte's.
Chillybean, cute junco and shrike. Hope that shrike sticks around for a while.
This Western Bluebird landed on our deck just as I was looking at Dave's thread on his bluebirds. They've been on our power lines and in the berry vines, but this is the first time this year I've seen one so close.
Wow! Great thread. Wonderful pictures all. I am just catching up. Late getting to the party as usual.
I saw a cardinal across the back yeard this morning. I was aftaid that they had left us & visited someone else.
FYI On PBS tonight - NATURE
"In the new episode "Jungle Eagle," an intrepid team of cameramen goes deep into the South American jungle to find the rarely seen -- let alone filmed -- harpy eagle, the most powerful raptor on Earth."
I think one of those are married to my one neighbor!!
Haaaaaa! Too funny.
Fantastic shot of the gull, Burd.
Awesome pics everyone!!! I enjoy this thread (and others) so much!
Thank you everyone for sharing!
I watched the PBS entertainment. It was great. Sharon
Beautiful shots duc. I'm really lovin' sparrows right now.
Chily, nice junco shot!
Burd, amazing dive shot!
Margaret, great shots. Love seeing your crystal clear pics of the great birds you have.
Nanny, Queen of Woodpeckers, nice pil shots!
This Red-tailed hawk flew right by us on the tower at Sheldon Lake. He was so close that I couldn't keep him in the pic frame. Took this one after he flew off and was pretty far away. He was so dark -- very unusual. Total opposite of Red's beautiful white one!
Nanny, cute shot of your goldfinch feeder.
Margaret, the pelican shots are just awesome! I especially liked the one with fish envy and that last one. Love that heron-it's beautiful.
Elphaba, glad you liked seeing the red-tailed hawk-they are pretty in flight.
Here's a brewer's blackbird that decided to sit on the railing rather than be blown off in the wind.
Great shots everyone!
Margaret, Love those Pelicans!
Wonderful shots everyone. Red, love daddy bluebird.
Cardinals & tufted titmice are hanging around.
Geez Nanny, those Turkey Vultures have a face only a mother could love.
Good shots, everyone.
I needed to have this bird confirmed on the ID forum. Immature Whistling Kite at the Leschenault Inlet. There were several of them around but the terrain was likely to be home to those long slithery things with fangs that bite you and inject venom if you tread on them, so I didn't venture too far from the track.
