Time to make a new start. Hope you all checked out all the great photos in the last thread. We came from:

I'm going to start off with a bird that arrives at my feeders in the fall and stays through the winter, a White-crowned Sparrow.
Daily Bird Pics. Vol. #419
Wonderful shots duc!
Thanks for starting the new thread!
Thank you Duc for the new thread, I'm longing to see those White-crowned Sparrows return for the winter as well. How nice it's to have Cedar waxwings at different time through the year! I've not seen one this year as I've seen many the year before. Cute Wrentit. Nan, I so wished that I would get a Brown Creeper one of these days. I like Burd's Redtailed Hawk from our last thread. Also I adore all the birds from Margaret as well. Ladi_burd has been sharing quite a few 'lifers' being new at this. Great Blue Heron outside the window;
This is the first time I've gotten a decent shot or a White-tailed Hawk.
Nice one! Can you add it to BirdFiles too please? http://davesgarden.com/guides/birdfiles/go/310/

We had a heap of birds land on our place. Even though you don't see it, I am guessing there were hundreds. I tolerated them for a couple reasons. One, maybe there might be a lifer in there and two, I didn't want to scare off our resident Flicker who seemed to hang around right then. The children get a kick out of scattering these large flocks of birds.
I have to admit I am a smidge jealous of the Pileated photos. We finally got to claim that as a lifer bird, but the two we saw were kind of wary of us. You pictures are very nice, bsharf.
Do all those sparrows stay for the winter, Elphaba? Or are they going further south yet?
Here's the Flicker I mentioned. She doesn't mind sharing with the Blue Jay, but she would not tolerate the Red-bellied who came by.
Great start to a thread. Too many good shots and birds to comment on them all. We birded Red Slough in SE OK yesterday and saw 66 species, but the highpoint to me was finding a brood of baby alligators. I got some close up pics without being chased off by mama who never came out of her den just a few feet away. The gators there hibernate and are pretty slow this time of year.
A Common Snipe with a snail in his beak.
Chily, many sparrow varieties winter here.
Red, really nice snipe shot. I took some at Galveston last weekend but they just looked weird to me!
Red's shots reminded me that I forgot to share some of my Galveston shots from last weekend -- probably b/c it took me all week to go through them! This was a lifer for me a Long-billed Curlew.
Impressive photos. Especially the Le Conte's Sparrow. Considering its location, that is a great photo.
Wow so many wonderful shots from everyone!!!
Elphaba, I love that White-tailed Hawk and Long-billed Curlew!
Had my first sighting of a Dark-eyed Junco today.
Lily, cute photo of your heron.
Bsharf, love that pileated-how lucky you are!
Nanny, so many pretty birds-wow!
Elphaba, that white-tailed hawl is beautiful-congrats. I don't recall ever seeing a photo of one here. And that caracara is gorgeous! Congrats on the la conte's sparrow-it is beautiful.
Chillbean, cute photo showing all the birds.
Red, great shots-love that snipe!
Pelle, glad the juncos are showing up there too.
One of my Oak Titmice.
Sweet one duc!
Well at least a dozen more Junco's have shown up here.
Great pics guys!! Love that Hawk Elphaba!!
We have had about 6 juncos in the yard the last 2 mornings....got some pics but have to get them on the computer.
Sweet Junco duc!
