Question

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Is it just me or is it taking longer than usual to load your watched threads? Seems that it only takes longer on watched threads not the others. Just wondering.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

I haven't noticed any difference personally and as far as I know everything is operating as it should.
I'll keep an extra close eye on it though and if I see any problems, I'll report them right away.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Thank you melody. I just wondered as I didn't notice any other sites taking a long time to load.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

That is odd.
I've got a few watched threads that I'll pay special attention to to see if there is a pattern.

I get similar "stuck" loading home page. Just had, "waiting for load.s3.amazonaws.com"

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

I'll have someone take a look and see if we've got issues. I've still not experienced any slowdown, but it won't hurt to get it on the radar.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Thanks melody, still having issues.

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

Are your watched threads really long? I don't have too many watched threads, but one I have that just popped up tonight has close to 400 responses so it does take a bit longer to load than other threads, but it doesn't seem like it's taking any longer than other threads of comparable length.

Beautiful, BC(Zone 8b)

I only load the "home" page on DG with only 3 "watched" forums. It seems to get stuck on loading external stuff so I can hit "refresh" and it might clear or just continue attempting to finish loading the page. I think it gets stuck loading external advertisers, etc.

Try turning your ads off and see if that helps Mike. It would let us know if it is in the ad content or in the community. (you can always turn them back on)

1 thread is 387 replies, 1 is 281 and the other one is 121...not too long. Seems to be doing a little better today. Not really a big deal but was just wondering if others were having the same issue. Thanks everyone.

Beautiful, BC(Zone 8b)

Looks like I only had the main ads check box empty so I removed the other 2. So far, so good. Thanks.

Now I'm getting, "Memcache could not connect"

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

Thanks Mike.
I've reported this issue as well.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

Just got a message back from Tech and they are aware of a problem and are working on it...he didn't go into detail, but yes, there is a bug in the system.

Thanks for the heads-up everyone.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Yea! Thank you.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I get the same as growin.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

I just got a 'memcache could not connect' too.

Hopefully, they'll get things under control soon, so this is no more than an annoyance.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Yup, I'm getting it too, wasn't before though.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

I got one yesterday, but nothing seemed wonky. I reported it along with your slowdown issue. Apparently they are somehow related.

Beautiful, BC(Zone 8b)

The "Memcache" errors have stopped. Are there squirrels in the programming 'cause they seem to be trying to hide some nuts?

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

I've had one in the last few minutes, so something is still 'nutty'.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Good to know melody. Yup, something is still nutty at the nut farm!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

It's running like it did when I didn't have DSL...only way I can explain what's going on here.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

That's really odd....I've not noticed any glitches or slow-downs today. Is it still just DG that is slow?

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Yes, it's only DG. Maybe it's just a problem on my end and it's just affecting DG. I don't remember it being this slow to load. I don't want you to wrack your brain over it. Sounds like it might just be my end.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

I've just tried some large threads and they open almost immediately and I'm not getting any reports of slowness. I'll keep tuned to any problems though and let tech know asap.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Then it IS my end...thank you melody.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

Keep me posted.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Will do.

Beautiful, BC(Zone 8b)

dg "sticking" again. Loads the main page but gets stuck loading the amazon component.
