DAILY BIRD PICS VOL #415

Marlton, NJ

Love the buck and the Thrasher on the sign. Yes those dried garlic blooms are really nice!

Nice shots nanny!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I sure hope some of the Warblers that people are seeing pass through my way, too!

This isn't a wonderful picture, but I think the Black-crested Titmouse is so cute. I don't have them at my house, I have to travel a couple of hours southwest to see them.

Nanny, your flickers are so sweet-cute one with the warbler. Love that bb baby.

Missy, your titmouse is a cute one and a bird we don't see very often on here.

GP, your hummer must be happy with the blooms.

I'm so glad to see our Bald Eagles coming past us each day.

Great shots everyone, I'm so far behind to catch up with individual shot, I love them all. Burn, it's nice to see fall is really in the air from your photos. I'm ready to have some of those sparrows to return to the garden to stay for the winter too Duc.

It didn't take long, for the Blue Jay to find the peanuts, I've brought out for them.

Adorable blue jay, Burn!

I'd say a coopers, with that striped tail, Nanny.

My pair of hummers are still here! They are usually gone by this time, I went to the Hummingbird pages and there are instances of them staying the winter, I was thinking of leaving one up all winter, but not sure how we are going to keep it from freezing, because we usually don't get up before dawn to put it back out. So still thinking about all the alternatives, the one about the large wattage bulb in a reflector seems to be the best idea, but that creates a whole other set of interesting challenges. Will let you know what we decide, don't have any new birds here, just sparrows and of course our little beauties, hummers, we just made some more sugar water and put it out and they went to it like a bee to honey!

Thanks Mrs. Ed...senior moment and I meant to come back and change it ...then forgot! lol

I'll send you a few Kookaburras if you like, Countrymom. They're maniacs at the moment.

Duc, is your place the certified wildlife habitat or the adjoining land? Love you Quail and the Warbling Vireo.

TBM, I would love to see a Titmouse. They are the sweetest looking birds.

Gorgeous little Bluebird, nanny.

Colours are really starting to turn in your area, Burn. Love the Downy.

Burn cute photos of your wp and jay.

Nanny, hope that hawk has moved away from your area by now.

Margaret, love that curious look on your shrike. That sign is in my backyard. Several years ago I joined a large number of backyard gardeners in making our yards habitats for the birds and other wildlife. Here's the info about it-

That's great, duc. One of the criteria they haven't mentioned is: "Take great photographs"

Great shots Margaret, burn, duc and nanny!

Hummingbird hovering, just look at her little tummy! I can't believe they are still here. Saw 3 of them this afternoon, but they are more skittish and don't stay put for the camera;) So I have to be a little more faster than they are to catch them flying, it aint easy but I am getting there, I don't think I will ever be the queen of the hummers, but I am thrilled to actually be able to get pictures of them, it has been one of my quests since I moved here and got acquainted with them, I always wanted to get pics of them, and I think I succeeded quite well, don't you?

Yep your doing quite well teddy!

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Wow, y'all have taken some awesome shots while I've been away. Nanny, love the tail feathers of that hawk. Burn, that downy is gorgeous in that light. Duc, just gorgeous. Margaret, I just love your birds.

I've been birding in the Rio Grande Valley. It was awesome. Still going through the photos, but look what showed up at my house this morning, a Mourning Warbler!

Margaret, love that parrot. That kookaburra is beautiful. I guess centipedes don't bite birds-ick!

Teddy, your little chubby lady sure is sweet.

Elphaba, sure is a pretty warbler. Is that a lifer for you? If so, congrats.

This mourning dove landed on our upper deck and watched us through the window as we ate,

OMG! I didn't even realize it was a lifer until you asked me! Thanks Duc! I just added Mourning Warbler to all 4 of my lists. That is so much fun!

And Duc, your pics are stunning. The pewee is really nice and the osprey and red-tailed are amazing. I have doves that sit outside the window looking in too. Then they usually fly into the window. It amazes me that they sit 2 ft. from the window, study it and decide that they can fly through it. You'd think that I wash my windows more often than I do!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

LOL @ Elphaba for not knowing a Lifer!!

I have not seen a hummers today. I will clean them today and only put 2 back out at this point. 1 in the front and 1 in back for any travelers passing by.

Well I spoke to soon...had a hummer about 20 minutes ago
