Lots of good stuff in that last one. I was quickly lurking as I had some work and other events keeping me away. I'll for sure have to go back and review it in detail.
I got a nice surprise a couple of weeks ago when this female American Redstart was flitting around in the trees outside the window.
She flitted around eating some bugs and then landed on the hose reel box below the window.
While stalking a hummingbird and some butterflies, this American Goldfinch landed on the Hummingbird and House Wren perch.
Can't remember if I posted this before, but all the action is back on the sunflowers.

Thank you Mrs. Ed for the new thread. The American Restart is adorable, and I'm a fan of Goldfinch as well. I saw a Goldfinch the same day I noticed the Mag. Warbler. They both were just passing by.

Whoa! That's a large flock of Cormorants there Maraget! Thanks Mrs. Ed, for the interesting link. I'll study it further. Margaret, Elphy can share with you how hot the weather is. Here, ours reached the mid. 80F today, that's quite warm still.

I just happened to check the rarebird.org page and read the report's that they had spotted one at ONWR in the Magee Marsh area, so I made the trip out to see if I could get a shot.

These are all great pictures. I love the common grackle, what kind of equipment do you use? I would love to take pictures of birds right now I do all macro pictures, mostly insects.

Had this hawk show up yesterday and then again today. He was escorted by about six crows that were buzzing him and kept him on the move. In this shot you can see a feather fly after a crow smacked him in the head.
And this picture, which isn't very good, really, shows another crow coming at him. Notice the white speck on his head where the feather seen the previous picture was knocked out. This crow also made contact with the hawk's head.
And here he is when he came by again this afternoon. This time it was the mockingbirds that were buzzing him, so he didn't stay long.

Thanks all...more info on the Warbler, around 40 birder's were able to see the Black-throated Gray Warbler the last 2 days with about 10 photographer's including me.
Bird was last reported in Ohio back in 2005.

Burd, congrats on that fabulous bird. Beautiful shots of it too and warblers are so hard to get.
GP, I feel so sad for that lost little bird! Glad he found someone to talk to. I have a friend who rescues parrots. She always has the exotic birds in her yard. I think they hear her parrots and recognize it as a familiar sound.
Lily, tried to get the birds to line up stage-right this time, but they were not cooperating! I also asked them to hop in the sun, but no. I don't blame them it's oven hot out there. At least the nights have cooled down.

Wish I could have gotten this House Finch in the sun. I call him Juicy Fruit. His rump is yellow.
Could not get a really good pic of this yellow warbler. She would not stop for a second. Had to edit b/c I said "he" and I'm pretty sure it's a "she."

I must admit she did pose on this stick in the sun for 3 pics but the camera didn't focus on her in 2 of them -- very annoying. Here she is escaping my photo.
