North Central Texas RU October 16th, (Trade Thread)

Dallas, TX

Loonie, I got poo for you! (the girls may not be giving me much in the way of eggs these days, but there is no end to the poo!)

Arlington, TX

Dennis, could I have the rock penstemon?
Cheryl

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Kate,I will give it a try!
Pattie, I ended up buying a toad lily the other day and have a little piece for you if you want...you get first dibs on "Empress Purple" if it is like one of the ones you lost. Most likely I will be asking for a it after I kill mine...:)
Dennis how big is the dwarf virginia sweetspire ? If it is under 3 ft, I am interested.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

Kate, I have you down for some pineapple guava cuttings.

Cheryl, the rock penstemon is yours.

Anna, the sweetspire gets 3-4 ft tall. Would ou like one?

Arlington, TX

Thank you Dennis. I am not going to pot up the cholla. There are one or two small plants that have rooted and I am going to dig those up the day before the RU.

What I have, which are smallish and newly potted so no guarentee:

6 zexmenia (tough and will likely survive)-patrob
3 Salvia roemeriana (cedar sage) - small plants-patrob
3 heart leaf scullcap- patrob, stephanie
2 small cona coffee elephant ears (dark brown leaves but not large when mature)-patrob and banana

Looking for any very tough and drought tolerent perennials to replace the agastache that died this summer.

I also have a wish list for a coworker who had hip replacement and lost her garden plants because she wasn't able to work in it this spring and summer. I am planning on planting some things that are not too needy for her. If anyone has any starts of these plants I would really appreciate them.
tall mex. petunia, west tx mist flower, pink scullcap, salvia greggii (any color)
I have some zexmenia, black foot daisy and moss verbena to use in her garden. Can anyone think of other common plants that would work?

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Cheryl, could I get one each of your

zexmenia
Salvia roemeriana (cedar sage)
heartleaf skullcap
Kona coffee elephant ear?

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Carla, I'll bring you a big black trash bag of each kind of manure. Do you prefer dry or fresh cow stuff?
I'd like to have your bur oak seedling (if you still have it) and a couple of red cannas.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Cheryl, can I get a heartleaf skullcap from you please? Mine didn't survive the furnace this summer.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Stephanie, could I get these plants from you?

Turk's Cap
Purple Coneflowers
Rock Rose
Pink Skullcap
Phlox Pilosa

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Looks like you need sun plants. I have wooley stemodema (native) which is a fuzzy(color like lamb's ear) ground cover, tons of purple dwarf katies ruellia, seedlings of John Fannick phlox that are all hardy in sun for your co worker....or anyone else. I have found my grasses have done very well through the drought. I have a Japanese silver grass in full sun that was hardly watered and still looks great. I will only bring it if people want it.
Cheryl, can I have one cona coffee EE?

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Also have tons of strawberry fields gomphrena seed heads.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Of course Patricia!

Arlington, TX

Stephanie may I have a few pink scullcap and west tx mist flower starts if you still have them?
Cheryl
I would also like a couple of the rock rose seedlings for myself if they are still available.

I will dig up a couple more heartleaf scullcap to make sure you get one that lives. I am not sure why but mine have popped up all over the bed after being dormant through the heat.

Arlington, TX

Glenna, I will take a few dwarf mex. petunias for my coworker.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes Cheryl, I have plenty of all of those.

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Patricia, the Bur Oak seedling is yours. I would prefer aged poo, but will take whatever you have readily at hand.

Carla

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Aged it will be, Carla. It's much lighter and easier to sack up too. :>) Thank you for the bur oak.

Arlington, TX

I would like some goat poop.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Certainly, Cheryl. Thank you for the plants.

Anna, I have looked through my jungle of pots again and unfortunately can find no trace of the Salvia Caradonna you gave me. I put my new plants in semi-shade and ran the sprinkler frequently, but by August a lot had just given up.
Could I get these plants from your list? I'm hoping planting in the fall will be better.
Frogfruit
Wooley Stemodema
John Fannick Phlox
Japanese Silver Grass

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

My heartleaf skullcap goes dormant every summer, too. It is just now coming back.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Great! I just pulled it out and sent it to the compost pile this morning. :(

Arlington, TX

Now I know you didn't toss it if it had leaves. My plants are putting out a lot of new leaves and have traveled from one end of the bed to everywhere. If there are living roots, the odds are you didn't pull them all out as they spread around.
C

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Cheryl, did you want the dwarf mex pet from me and not Glenna?
Pat, I will have all of those for you

Arlington, TX

Yes, guess I read the post wrong, sorry.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Dennis, I would love the Virginia Sweetspire
No problem , Cheryl....I dug up a whole bunch today
Pat, I would poo too from you that's not new

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Cheryl, it had ONE leaf on it and it was brown. I yanked it. Maybe it'll spring up from roots or something.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you, Anna. I will have poo for you too that's not new. Sort of sounds like Dr. Seuss! :>)

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

How true!

Arlington, TX

I saw a pigeon berry here somewhere. If it is still available I would love to have it.
C

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Sure, Anna, I don't have that toad, so if you can bring a piece of it, that'd be great. I have only lost my species plants, though. Still have plenty of the blue ones, if you need another. As for the bog sage, I'm slowly pulling (literally) it out of a bed where it's taken over, and have already potted up as much as I can keep. There's plenty left.

Thanks, Stephanie, for the catmint. I have never had trouble rooting it, so if you just want to bring a little piece, that would be fine.

Cheryl, I think I do have an extra gulf coast p. I'll look to be sure.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I finally have some to post, sorry to be so late.
3 small Carolina Phlox
4 small Cedar Sage
2 small Snapdragon vine
1 small Low petunia, Ruellia humilis
0 small Heartleaf Skullcap

I will post more later
Josephine.

Cheryl, I have the pigeon berry. I'll pot it up for you!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Josephine, I think I'd like to try the heartleaf skullcap and a carolina phlox. Would you put my name on one of each? thanks!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Sure Stephanie, they are yours.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you!

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

Josephine, I would be interested in trying the petunia.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

O.K. Dennis, the petunias are yours, they make a good ground cover.

Arlington, TX

I would like another caronlina phlox if you have one.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

O.K. Cheryl, you have it.
