Gas prices...

GW

According to the BBC the average wage earned by men in Britain is 10.89 GBP ($15.25) or 21,235 GBP ($29,730) per annum and women is 8.38 GBP ($11.73)or 16,314 GBP ($22,877) per annum. Before taxes.

That of course is the national average across the country, in the south west and Wales the wages tend to be lower, London is a higher percentage and has a much higher cost of living too. If 16k is the national average for women ... I want to be earning it LOL.

Heres where I got the figure from http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/business/newsid_1202000/1202458.stm

GW - we can also consider how much of a yearly income is spent on other things like utilities, mortages, rent, etc. I think comparing relative prices of US to non-US gasoline is bigger than 'price per gallon'.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Here is $1.06 and soon will go down $1.04 wow that big help cheaper gas and poor them who ever has higher a gallon too much.

I would gladly pay higher taxes for a decent medical system that would give medical to everyone. Insurance plans are outrageous for anyone over 60 and medicare covers so little that many people cannot afford their prescriptions here. We have Medical for those who are very poor but nothing for the working people unless they are fortunate enough to have insurance through their employer. A huge number of our population goes without medical care until they are in extreme danger because they cannot afford the bills for regular preventative care. These same people struggle to make a living and the gas prices sometimes make it hard to put food on the table. We average fewer holidays and vacations than most civilized nations and work longer hours. There is no Caste system here yet the division between the haves and the have nots grows wider every year. Yes we whine about gas prices and a lot of other things BUT
I still love this country and our way of life. I am better off than many and not nearly as well off as others but I am blessed with a decent home, a job, and a wonderful family. We just need to continue to work on certain problems and resolve them.
