Josephine here is a bloom from my hated Honey Vines.
September Blooms
They're too raggedy to take a good picture, but I had a couple of prairie asters open Sept 1. Apparently in their minds it's fall, time to bloom, 103F or not. I guess the shorter days are their trigger?
Larry, that is so pretty, the ones you sent me bloomed to and they are so pretty, I love them. Thank you for sending them to me.
The morning glory is very nice too.
Josephine.
Very nice Stephanie!!
Larry, I have discovered that the vine you sent me is called Twine Vine, Funastrum cynanchoides ssp. cynanchoides
still of the milkweed family, what tipped me off were the flowers, which are really pretty just like milkweeds.

Isn't that interesting?
Josephine.
Josephine twine vine is a more descriptive name than honey vine. I guess you can add one more to your native plant count.
Here is a flower of seeds you received this spring. It is one of those what's her name plants.
Flowers in the spring and sporadic thru the summer. Gets 3+ feet tall when wet in the spring.
Larry, that is a Pincushion flower, very pretty but unfortunately not a native, thank you for thinking of me.
Josephine.
All very lovely. The red salvia is Salvia coccinea, Scarlet Sage.
Thanks Jo. All I could remember at the moment was the "coc".
Very pretty blooms Sheila and Grits!!
You too Stephanie. I have some Red Hurricane Lilies in the backyard that are blooming. Wish that was a rain indicator for sure!
Unfortunately, it's just an indicator of September.
The seeds are ready when the pods are dry.
Hmmm....I have something that looks like that pink gomphrena growing in my flowerbed, but it's not bloomed. Wonder if I have the weed version! LOL
Very pretty purple Larry.
