Suggestion Dave........

I was looking at the 'Seed Trading' forum and looked under the "Seed Packet Template". Saw such wonderful templates for seed packages, and wished I could print them out.

Unfortunately I do not have a working printer anymore, and cannot afford a new one. I thought to myself 'Dave to the rescue'. Could he not have some of these lovely seed packages printed up and offer them to everyone?

I am sure he could get them printed really cheaply and offer them for 5 cents each (cost of an ordianary envelope) at say a minimum of 100 seed envelopes at at time. Even I can afford $5.00 plus postage.

He could give us a choice of 100 'Dave's Garden', 'Misc. Gardening', 'Fairies', 'Birds', 'Veggies' etc. or a choice of 20 of 5 of the above to make up the 100.

They could come in sheets, that you could fill in the blanks and then put them together or better still come already assembled, ready to fill with seeds and just glue down the flap.

What say you Dave???

tiG, Why?

well, they take a lot of time to cut and assemble. I guess i was thinking what if I was the person sitting there cutting and pasting all those seed packages:) I couldn't even do all the ones I wanted, I started using a folded type that goes much faster for me. wasn't trying to put the idea down, just can't imagine being the one doing it:)

gardendragon, being your printer is broke down, why don't you have a friend or close neighbor or family member to have them run 1 copy for you and then take that to a copy supply place and have more copies made. You have copies made for 3 cents a copy. At least I can around here. I do that alot of times if I want several copies of something, and it saves on my printer cartridge.
I agree with tig, that is alot of work for one person to do,especially Dave and Trish. I think they have their hands pretty full right now.

CoCo, Thanks for the brilliant suggestion. How could I be so dense not to think of having them copied at the copy place. Here a sheet costs 5 cents, but still I could get 4 on a page. Thanks so much. Why did I not think of that?

I agree Dave & Trish have a lot on their plate at the moment was just thinking of another way for them to raise money for their lovely site.

Dave's a programming fiend and I bet Trish is up to her eyeballs in embroidery....And their kids aren't quite old enough to employ as slave labor just yet, LOL. ;o)

gardendragon, it was a good thought. I'm kind of borrowing your idea for a Christmas present for my mom (she hasn't joined DG yet, so I can say that without fear of her seeing it) - I may make her some seed packets along with the rest of her present.
