I've a visitor today, and it may decide to stay over for the night as I can still see the little darling out after sunset.
2011 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds Vol. 3
Nice shots MajiA and Lily!
Very nice!! None here yesterday or today that I have seen. But expect to see more travelers yet.
None, here since this morning. No traveler nor visitor. :((
Nice capture Lily.
Beautiful shots Maji.
As of yesterday, I still had one hummer around. I've been trying to get a shot of it drinking from the pomegranite tree flowers. Normally, that tree would be about to turn yellow and lose its leaves, but I went on vacation in the summer when temps were well over 100 degrees and the tree turned brown. Came back and watered it, and new leaves came out and now it's blooming like it's spring. Weird. Here's the best one so far.
That's a great capture there Elphy. Promagranate is a great ornamental tree isn't? Just love 'em.
Lovely capture Elphaba.
Thank y'all. Haven't seen one now for a couple of days. That might be the last one.
I sighted my last straggler on Monday, Oct. 24th. I first saw her at my back feeder, and later in the afternoon at the feeder outside my kitchen window. She was very perturbed by the green lizard hanging out on the glass bottle. A little humor to end the season.
I had one yesterday morning before the cold front came through. I was cleaning the windows and turned around and there she was. Haven't seen her since though.
Maybe it's time to start a new thread...because...
I had an adult male hummingbird come to my water fountain yesterday. I couldn't see the gorget, because of the lighting, so I'm not sure if it was a Ruby-throated or Black-chinned. So excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
