Thanks Sheila for posting and Dale for the article....So informative...my passion vines are really starting to kick off now...since the rains come most every day. But still no cats. Hopefully soon....the GF are fluttering about.

I'm finally starting to see more butterflies in the past few weeks. Here's one that I snapped yesterday. Annette

Another view. This butterfly must have thought that I was nuts, chasing it around the lantana for a few photo opps.

Cem.... That is a Gulf Fritillary that you chased! They can be really fast, good shots. If you have any passiflora vines around you might check it for caterpillars. That is the GF's host plant.

I will Sheila, and thanks for the id. I do have 2 passiflora vines, but I didnt see any cats. on them today. I'll keep checking. Here's another butterfly that I got a picture of on 8/23, and I'm still seeing them in the garden. Annette
