Malali watermelon! This is the biggest one. They are supposed to be about 10 lbs at maturity and I've dragged my bathroom scale out there a couple of times. LOL This one is about 7 pounds.

Everything looks just great Mindy. I have several tomatoes in containers, 6 in beds and I'll probably move the container ones to a bed as soon as the bed is ready. Got sidelined with a shoulder injury, but it's healing.
We're still in triple digits here but I think that's going to turn next week and the following weekend I can work the beds. There's a Master Gardener sale on Oct 22 that I'm kind of waiting for.....hope to get some herbs and maybe a cherry tom. I broke the one I had that was doing really well.....it's trying to re-root in a small container....HATE when I do that!
I'm smitten with the French Breakfast radishes. Did not have good results with the Watermelon radish last year. I'll do carrots, beets and lettuce, minimum. Oh, and a bed of garlic to go in soon.
Everything looks nice and very promising folks. Keep on gardening!
Broccoli are growing well outside ...
Mindy,
Thanks for the updates! Did you use the Krylon Fusion spray paint for plastics on your pepper plant containers?
Btw,
Anyone besides me experiencing slower uploading speeds on this thread? It's gotten long, and the pics seem to be slowing it down.
Time to start a new thread...
Linda
d -- I started them indoors and they went way too crazy way too fast! I wish I'd thought to plant fava beans; I love them.
Mary -- Thank you so much. I'm sorry about your shoulder but glad to hear it's coming along. I have a bad left arm/shoulder so can sympathize. We'll see how the watermelon radishes do, this is my first time with them. I'll keep the French Breakfast in mind. I'll do lettuce, too, but keep those beets away from me. :-)
Gym -- Yes I did! They are black nursery pots and the Krylon for plastic worked beautifully. Some were labeled "glossy" and some weren't, but I really can't tell much of a difference.
Mindy
Mary Washington asparagus. Started from seed, then I had it outside in a pot for many weeks and I finally transplanted all three. This is the only one that looks like it MIGHT survive this heat.
Mindy ~ tell me about germinating these seed please?
Linda, wonderful about your fence. It'll be like a new lease on life for your garden -- no more exuberant puppies trampling through! Plus, you may be able to grow vine crops or flowers, adding chicken wire or netting as needed. Perhaps you can even hang a hanging planter or a shelf if you want, to take advantage of sunshine that hits the top of the fence but not the ground. Or prune tomatoes in your pajamas (although what tomatoes would be doing in your pajamas, I'll never know).
