Where are your Seedlists?

With over 800 (or getting on for 900) members, we don't seem to have as many people putting up seedlists as we might. Some of us are addicted to seed trading, so please, all you members with even one packet of seed to trade, PLEASE start a seed list and get trading!

Well guys, I would love to but I'm all out :) I traded very heavy from September through the end of November and part of December. I will be armed and dangerous tho after this summer. Have no fear I will have 20 times as much to trade after this season!

I am in EXACTLY the same boat as RiseAnn.

I have done most of my trading for the season too...I posted a few days ago that the rest of the seeds I have are going out to sase's. I want to see them growing somewhere and not just taking space in my seed box. Trading will pick up when the summer/fall seed harvests start.

Last October I seperated all my seeds into 2 piles - ones I will be growing, and the ones I won't be growing.

I then proceeded to have a SASE-Blowout where I sent all my excess away to everybody. That was a mistake, I learned, because then I didn't have anything to trade for the rest of the year!! Live and learn. Next year I'll still give seeds by SASE, but I'll also leave plenty in reserve for trading.

Hi karma_Happy_Toes,

What are the 79 packets of Several Varieties on your list? Do you have 79 packets of mixed seeds, or 79 different sorts of seeds?

Noel, MO(Zone 6a)

O.K., o.k.,

I'm working on a new larger list, it's almost ready...

Soon maybe real soon...

Okay, I'm confused....I still haven't figured out exactly where to list my seeds that I have for trade.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

I have seeds to trade on my seed site at:
http://pages.zdnet.com/kringheart/gardening
but be forewarned, its a bigun'!:)

Emlyn,

If you are logged on, click on Emlyn's Page (right hand side of the screen).

You'll see Emlyn's Page on the top with an Edit menu under it. Beside the "Have-List", click on Edit. Then click on Add an entry. Fill in the info, and repeat the process until you are all done! :) Keep asking questions if you get stuck, or just email me.

kat- it really is convenient to put your trade list up on DG, especially if you will be trading here often (which, of course you will ). By posting the list here, all of DG can view it when looking for something, wanting to trade with you, or just browsing around.

I'm new...and have lots of seeds...but like a dumby... I have been listing them in Plant trading.... I will work on adding them to seed trading. Boy do I feel stupid right now!!!

Sue, if you'd like I can move your threads from one forum to the other - just let me know.

Springville, AL(Zone 7a)

Terry...Thanks sooo much!! That would be great!!!!!

Pinellas Park, FL(Zone 9b)

It's too much work for me to go through the whole process for my entire collection so I just put on big list on my home page. It probably won't come up for anyone searching for a particular seed but that's OK.
I am slowly doing the long way as time permits.

Sue, it's done (at least I think I got them all.)

Springville, AL(Zone 7a)

LOL...Thanks so much Terry!! I promise to get better with time!!!

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Mary, I'm a bit confused. I checked your Tradelist, and I only found 38 items, all wants. Am I missing something or are they mis-listed?

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6a)

Weez, this is an old post, Mary isn't even a member anymore. :)

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Ohhhhh! Good to know! LOL! I was pretty amused that someone with nothing but 'wants' wanted us all to get our lists up and running! Thanks!

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Chuckle. Who knows - it might have been the same list o' wants (and no "have's") four years ago, too! ;o)

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Ain't that true, Terry! LOL!

If it wasn't Mary's tradelists I might have believed it but she has an extensive trading list!

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Maybe she was so successful trading that she ran out of seeds! LOL! I hope she had good experiences here.

Sad, but true, I think many DGers have removed their tradelists since this thread was begun, though they have lots of wonderful seeds to trade. I think we've all had our share of seed requests for 20 or 30 kinds of seed, SASE, or even requests prefaced with inability to even pay for postage. One always has the option to ignore these requests or refuse them, but that can be uncomfortable for generous souls.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I guess four years has dimmed my memory...offhand I don't recall this member. (In defense of my lapse, there isn't much to go on there. Hmmm.... Baa, was she a compatriot of yours? If she was, that would probably start ringing some distant bells.)

She's still out there trading away WZ!

Terry
She lived in Ireland when she was an active member on DG and was one the the top contributors to the very early PDB.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Ahhhhh, yes....it's hazy but I think I do recall her now. My apologies ;o)

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Baa, why not coax her back into the fold? I've been seed collecting lately and will soon be updating my list.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Hi Mary! I used to have my tradelists posted but I started getting 'blanket' Dmails. Such as; I see you have so and so. I would like them for postage, please send me your address. That makes me wary so I just deleted my lists. Bummer!!

Nicole
