Dany's MG 2011 - 02

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Dany - Neat bloom! http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=8720832
I love these: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=8720849

I, too, got some really lovely shades of lavender from one of my crossed seeds of I. purpurea (Purple Flaked). I love the dark pink and blue Henka-type blooms, too! Very, very nice as always! ♥♥

It looks like Q1182 but has three-lobed foliage

I will try a crossing with shibori Blue and shibori Red.

Here Q1044

Beautiful blooms Dany.

Dany - Interesting comparison of the split petal and Q1182! That last photo is wonderful with the wide white throat. Very desirable traits it is displaying!

Your Q1044 blooms look similar to what I got on mine, only mine seem to be blue and yours seems to have some lavender and purple in the color of the blooms. My seeds came from you! Thank you! :-)

Everyone from the 2010 Swap had received .

In this container there are three plants of Q1044, one of three plant has that flowers in shades of purple ( same foliage but bloom different).
It is a cultivar that produces fertile seeds - however it disappeared from the collections Joseph had a few years ago, same for Arlan (Atenkley).

Bluer is better !

The lavender and purple color disappears in future generations? That's too bad. I love your colors!

That's the way it is with MGs ... very hard to stabilize a lot of them. I gave up! I just enjoy whatever Mother Nature sends my way! I also like what Kyushu University is do by numbering them instead of naming them. It's too ridiculous to try to come up with a new name for an endless variety of vines/blooms that often don't come true from seeds anyway! I think the Japanese are way ahead of us through their experience of growing these amazing vines since the 1600's! http://protist.i.hosei.ac.jp/asagao/yoneda_db/e/species/kozufu.html

Question!
Crossed with pollen from a six star like this give a six-pointed Split ?

Dany - Love that split bloom! Doesn't even look like a MG bloom! LOL! Neat six star I. purpurea bloom! :-)

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Wow, the split bloom is spectacular.

szarvas, Hungary

Thanks
If the gene 'six star' exist, pass it on a flower representing a cross ( Sydney, Crimson Rambler, Milky Way etc... ) is interesting but purpurea shibori it is stupid!
On this plant of purpurea Grandpa it is the third flower of six star that I see!

Dany - Neat grandpa split!

Love the pattern and colors on the trilobed splash leaf. Has that one bloomed yet?

And you have to share a photo of the blooms from the last foliage photo of the unusual I. nil vine. Sure to be something interesting in bloom, too!

Hi, Dany. Do you know of a source in the U.S.A where I can buy one of these plants? Does it produce seeds? I found a French source, but they will not mail to the United States? Thank you. Rex

If you have any other addresses !

response of Poiroux :
He can send plants to Florida from March 2013.

A other possibility .... from Japan !
Four different Ipomoea indica .... dark blue, light blue, white and pink .

Now, SOLD OUT ... but later in spring you can order, they send oversea !
The only problem is the U.S. Customs.

I have found the source for Edith Piaf. If I succeed, I will try to mail you a good budded root of Edith Piaf , or something else I have and which you might like. I have a new friend in Puerto Rico who will be sending me several kinds of plants. Many will be morning glory seeds from the wild.

oh dear, wild morning glorys .. my passion..

Zephyrhills, FL

I'll keep in touch about it, Debra. Other plants as well. I just may have a surplus.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Rex, did you send me some cuttings of some red and green stuff a while back? It is still alive and spread about in three pots now if u are the one who sent it.. :)
SOrry to talk off subject here.,
the mgs from Dany I planted are sure growing well so far!

Zephyrhills, FL

Again, thank you very much, Dany. I think I will also be receiving one called "Ipomoea learii" Tokito. It is also described as a light blue.
Happy Spring to you.

Yes, that was me. Do you know its name? I thought it was an Iresine one time. I still have it too.

How's Mr. Stinky doing? >>>> I used a very invasive plant vine that came from the Philipines to bundle some other cuttings I sent Debra. I had stripped all the leaves off . Even so, somehow it got rooted. There are companies in Europe and in the USA too that sell that. Sunshine Seeds in Germany, for example. I think it is botanically, Paederia foetida.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Well, that lil sprig turned into a nice size clump, i bring it in every winter, and the stinkweed? It is still surviving out thru snowy winters and very draught filled summers here so zone info must be changed?
I keep it pulled, cut and all, it comes right back, but not where it will hurt anything. The irsine is one of my favorite things. Thank you for sending it to me.
I also planted some seeds from Dany and they are growing fast!
