Only shot I have manged so far of adult & juvie Pileated Woodpecker. The juvie is the one lower on the tree...with back to camera! Taken this morning and right after I took it they were gone.

Cool Nanny! I'm so jealous!

Red, hope that hummer hangs around.

Lily and Chilly - just love herons! They were just made to photographed.

Teddy, really cool! Had no idea that woodpeckers would do that.

Burn, nice ones! Those dark birds are sometimes hard to get.

Just had my first ruby-throated hummer in months. A beautiful male. Didn't get a pic. Migration beginning?

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

I wanted a rufous or even both rufous and Anna hummingbirds when I go out West. Me too, I'm so jealous of Nan's Pileated wps and juvies. I'd like to see the male Ruby throated here too. Just females....not sure if their migration has started or not Elphy.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

I'm afraid maybe migration has indeed begun. I got an email from the Illinois listserv and they talked about how there are so many birds are already migrating. Seems like summer has barely gotten underway!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Can you believe it? Where has the time gone? Southward bound migration is underway, perhaps I get to see some enroute. Found this adolescent Cardinal in the backyard this morning. At least these guys/gals will hang around irregard of how the weather changes.

I've been spending more time in the garden and not on the computer, but wanted to tell you all that I love your pictures.

Here's a Bushtit that was checking for bugs in my yard.

I found these two immature cowbirds but haven't been able to find which bird raised them.

My last two tree swallows fledged yesterday. The whole flock disappeared with them and it sure is quiet around here.

Duc, the Bushtit is a cute looking bird! on the Cowbirds juvies, nature is amazing. Thanks to foster parents whoever they maybe. And last but not least! The Tree Swallows family pose is priceless! One final gathering to bid you farewell before their journey.

Got a question, have a bag of dry cat food that is still good, I put two handfulls on the platform feeder, what kind of birds will eat it? I put it up there so the cats couldn't get to it. Will the woodpeckers eat any of it?

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Hi Teddy, we have moved to http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1201609/.
But I'll answer your question here. The Woodpeckers have never ate cat food, here. But the Blue Jays, Grackles, Starlings have. So did the Crows and Ravens.
