The "baby" bobcat then takes the dirt out of the side yard to the front yard.
The fun begins!
BeaHive, this is the most fascinating work in progress. When you moved to the new house, did you look at what was in front of you and have a clear picture in your mind of the finished project?
I was just wondering what your new neighbors thought...
Beahive,
I don't think I saw a picture of your new house.
Thank you for sharing the excitement with us.
As far as golf, I think we will not play out of state till next year. We are very busy in our home club. Furthermore we have to check if there are clubs associated with Club Corp otherwise it will not be affordable at all. It will run us lots of $$$ to play.
Keep the pictures coming
Belle
What great pics you all have! Just got back from my Ohio trip....ahhh, I get zone envy everytime I go back. But, I also know I have tropical blessings my sister doesn't have! Hope you all have had productive weeks.
:)
I can't get over all the rock. for that matter, I can't get over the scope of the entire project. You mentioned the bathroom. Does that mean that the interior of the house needed as much tlc as the outside? You mentioned getting a house a little less than you wanted so you could get the amount of ground you wanted. Absolutely facinating...
Watching in wonder. Yeehaw!!!!
The interior of the house was all rennovated when I bought it. New kitchen, new master bath, updated guest bath, floors ,carpet, tile, paint, furnace ..it was all done. Of course there are things I would have done differently, but for now everthing is in doable.
From what the neighbors have told me, this place was a real mess for many, many years. They all seem to be happy that we moved in and giving some love to this place. Helps their property values also.
10 yards of new soil/compost mix was delivered and dispersed. Can't wait until I can get my hands in that soil and get my plants into the ground. My 2000 worms arrived today. They are waiting to get set free soon. Next surprise was the pavers. Jamison picked these up after lunch today. They are very pretty. 10 more yards of soil coming tomorrow to finish the beds in the back and for the front yard as well.
Neither can I. This project is so exciting!!!
Its amazing what can be accomplished so quickly with some good man- and motor- power.
Yep.. they are laying the pavers now. They are beautiful. Pics to come later..
*dreamy eyes*
It just keeps getting more and more spectacular. I'm really turning so green with envy!
It's looking great!
Un fing believable....It is soooo like what I wanted and didn't get. You have done a superlative job in ramrodding this and getting what you wanted...many kudooos.
Ditto to a great job. Earlier this year I said I had built my last pond (actually by myself-type built), but after seeing this I'm really thinking of expanding/redoing! Darn it. Maybe I should stop watching these threads. ;)
I think that Bea has single handedly raised the GNP on pond building by a bunch.
Jamison will be available soon. :)
Wish I could hire him but DH says 'enough is enough!' Umm. guess that means no. lol
oh, I'd hire him, after I win the lottery.
Well the pond is completed. The lighting was finished today. I waited patiently tonight for darkness to come and the lights to go on. I have to tell you that it looks so beautiful rather than show you as my nighttime photography sadly is horrible. There are three underwater light in the pond, three lights under water in the stream, 4 brass landscape lights around the pond and 2 up-lights beneath the red maple trees.
I wish you all were here to see what a wonderful work of art this is. The koi are doing their happy dance tonight!! I will have my daughter try to take some pic's tomorrow night when she is done with her finals. Maybe she will have better luck than I. I will try to get some daytime pic's tomorrow as I now begin all the planting in the yard.
Many thanks to Jamison & your wonderful crew for a job well done. Looking forward to our get together with all the families & friends for a BBQ to celebrate your wonderful vision, hard work, and dedication ! You deserve to show it off!!
It is a beautiful picture. the red leaves are stunning. Wish I could have lights on, in, or near my pond but with our constant light you couldn't see them anyway. by the time you could it is late fall and not much point. Kind of ruins fireworks on July 4th also.
He definitely does deserve to show it off. Well done'!!!!!!!!
Enjoy it for many years to come.
Incredibly beautiful!!! This is such a fun thread, seeing it progress from start to finish.
well my portion of this lovely project is on hold for a while. i took a fall today crushing boxes for recycle. it was a large box that I recieved two crape myrtle tree's in and it was giving me a hard time. i jumped on it a few times and it would not crush....but one last try finally crushed it to my surpise down i went with it. just came back from the ER and thank goodness no broken bones. i do have contusions on my forearm and elbow and lots of pain when i move this arm. no digging for awhile. just hope i can do some one arm watering tomorrow to keep thing alive until i heal. one handed typing is not so fun either. will try to heal quickly and keep this project going. i am so bummed about this.
