I'm still looking at buds. When the achimenes blooms, I'll for sure post it, it hasn't bloomed before.

Montgomery, AL

I love all the pictures! Thanks Olaf for this Sinningia speciosa. It's the first large blooming Sinningia that I've ever had and now I NEED more. They are so pretty.

Beautiful Jamie!

Frederick, MD(Zone 7a)

Thanks, Olaf. Always like seeing your fantastic growing and appreciate your information and enthusiasm for all you do grow.

Howdy there, Jan!

Imadigger, sorry about losing all your streps. They can be a little tricky sometimes and sulk quickly when dry and then they can resent overwatering too. I do let mine dry slightly and then water before they go all wilty. Gessiegail is doing great and is into all sorts of gesneriads now. She had hundreds of streps and to my knowledge doesn't grow them anymore. I'm sure she'll get back to them one of these days.

Happy to see the little sinningia pusilla seedlings from seed sown on 6/24.

While I was typing my post so many new neat photos appeared! Olaf, love yours...I want to add some kohlerias to my collection this year and Lynn...lovely violets. The EK Sugar Rose really does look like a sugar flower.
Pretty, Jamie! Did you see any of the 'gloxinias' David Thompson was/is selling on ebay?

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Goldleaf, if you are in contact with gessiegail, please let her know that I miss her. She is one of the most generouse people I know. Also send her my love. I'm glad she's doing OK.
Keep posting those glorious streps. I can enjoy them from afar. One day I'll try them again.

Frederick, MD(Zone 7a)

imadigger...I will send your greetings to gessiegail and i'm sure she will be happy to receive them from you. If you would like for me to enable you in some way to try again with streps, let me know ;-)

I forwarded your message to gessiegail and here is her reply....

"That warms my heart, Heidi...........how sweet of you to forward this..........please tell her how much I miss all of them, too!!"

Wowie, I've never even seen that Episcia before. And I hardly ever say that!

It is a hybrid by a Dave's Garden member that has not been officialy registered yet.I believe it was Helene that named this lovely plant 'Genevieve'.Am I correct here?

sublime -
No it came from Lillipad - grew it from seed - came true for her and named it after her mother. Those are the rules to re-name. i guess for gessies. it is beautiful combo

Thanks GoldLeaf, I'll check out eBay. I really like the Charles Lawn Sinningia hybrids.

Hey Jamie!

Those are some nice pictures! :) My Gloxinella lindeniana has buds and I can't wait for the flowers...

K. 'Ingrid' is exceptional!

Oh, and the seed fund always has a "Charles Lawn" mix of Sinningia speciosas. They are super easy and fast to raise from seeds. It takes about 4-5 months for tthem to bloom. :)

Love the pictures Jamie!
