A new planter that I put together today. My sister got the chair for free from a friend. The caning is coming off, but looks good in the garden.

Thanks, Allison. I put together 5 of them today, 4 were baskets that I bought last year or the year before at a local thrift store for about $3 each I think. Anyhow, I'm finally planting them. The 5th planter is a ceramic one that I put Black And Blue salvia in.

Shrub rose. Can't think of the name now.

You know, I just noticed that clem has petals that twist and curl, not unlike many spider and unusual form daylilies.

Go for it, Jen! I was running out of traditional planters. Another cool idea is to get an old bureau and plant in some of the drawers. Leave some closed and pull some out to plant in. You could also use an old birdbath as a planter. I might do that with one out back, as it's really just a mosquito breeding ground. I don't have time to keep changing the water. Would look nice with some succulents and such in it.

These lilies are getting ready to bloom.

Some house plants. The Agapanthus was from one bulb we got in 1983 when we moved into the house. Still going only we have a ton of them. The Orchid is one that we abuse and it still blooms every year. I have no idea of what it is, must ask Boojum. Patti

Thanks, another group of hot colors. Our Lilies are starting in earnest. I especially like the little species ones. Here is another that I planted in 2009. Lilium Div. 9 Species columbianum Patti

Creative use of the baskets, Karen. Patti, love the agapanthus...lost my 'hardy' blue this winter....I've now planted a white one in it's place. Jo, the gardens look great!

Thanks all. Today was a big weeding the paths day and pulling out more spider wort and grass that has invaded the SIBS. Annoying stuff. I have another long run of a path to weed tomorrow if it isn't raining. I divided some primula today and moved a few tall bearded iris and deadheaded everything. I hated where I had planted the iris so I decided to move them, but think I need to move more tomorrow. Musical plants. Patti

Very pretty photo.....I guess I should have weeded the south garden sooner....I found my blue agapanthus, alive & budded....the white looks great, but no buds.....
