I have a cutting of an unknown vine from my yard that I am rooting. I've never seen it full grown, but I think it may be a Virginia Creeper or False Virginia Creeper.
The cutting has developed some roots and has grown a couple new leaves. It does not look completely healthy, but the leaves look pretty good. Today I noticed these little round things along the middle spine of each of the leaves.
I am hoping that someone might know whether these are the eggs of some insect or maybe just sap from the plant itself? I wiped them off with rubbing alcohol after taking the picture. I will keep an eye on it to see if it comes back.
Possible Eggs? Or Sap?
if it was eggs it could be a Pandora Sphinx Moth as Virgina Creeper is one of its host plants. I have been hoping for years for some to come lay on all my Virgina Creeper I have growing all over
Wow, I just looked up the Pandora Sphinx Moth, and that is just beautiful! I've never seen anything like that! But, I don't think that's what it is, because it sounds like they are not found as far west as California. I'm hoping just sap, as I have this plant in the house in a sunny window for right now, until it's roots are better developed.
