Looks like central Texas is going to get some quick little showers. Would've preferred later in the day so the rain would have a chance to soak into the ground a bit, but....we'll take what we can get!
It's RAINING!!!!!! REALLY RAINING!! Thunder and everything.. look at the muddy water coming off the roof of my house. This is the top of my trash can I use as a rain barrel.. I ran out to take it off and this is what is coming off the edge of the house. The dirt of the roof is so bad.. LOL. Of course..every picture I take with my phone seems to turen a differnt directio... as I type, it is POURING! I am so excited I can hardly type.. this is the first real rain I have seen sice last Sepgemer.. I am going out to watch it.. I am wet from being out in it already and am sooooo happy! My dog is trying to crawl on my lap scared from the thunder. It has just been too long for them to have heard it.. they are usually not afraid.
Glad you are getting some rain Tammie! The showers all dissolved around Austin so I'm glad someone gets to take advantage of the showers!
Rain event is over and total is a hair over 2/10 but that may be because there were some dead bugs in the rain gage! Guess it has been a while since it has been used. I did rinse it out some time ago. It had dust piled up in it at one time from lack of use. I stood in my garage to watch and my neighbors were doing the same thing.. it was like a block party all waving to each other.... fun. TV cable is not fritzing like crazy.. guess the strangeness of water after so long is going to cause some problems around town. I am going to get in the car and see how much water has been added to the lake... I know my yard is going to be happy... it is nice to know the plants have been washed off. I threw a rock into the flowerbed the other day and when it hit the bushes you should have seen the cloud of dust that billowed up! LOL
.... sad thing... my mother lives 3 miles away and only got a few drops... she is very disappointed because it skipped over her.
Great that you got a good rain even if for a short period, so much of the area is so dry right now that anything is a blessing.

Had high hopes as i saw over cast through the night. Now just clouds here and there. At least it's cooler out right now.
I'd take clouds!! It would be cooler anyway.
It doesn't look good, we have another 10 days and even higher than it has been. They are calling for 106-110 next week. Today was better than it has been because of the breeze....tonight it is dead still.
Actually received about a tenth of an inch of rain here yesterday. Not enough to do much good, however, any amount is a blessing.

I'd take anything to settle the dust! I'd even take some clouds to lower the temps. I'm not picky.
