That sure is pretty Cheryl, mine are not that big yet, probably too crowded.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Very pretty.Cheryl. I notice the lattice on your fence. Is is attached to the wood or the posts. Is it your fence?

Arlington, TX

We are on a corner, so yes I guess it's our fence and my husband attached it to the fence with screws. I think its too busy but he thinks it give us privacy. I have a couple vines starting to grow on it for a cover up.

My blooms are suffering a bunch from this relentless heat and drought. I thought you might enjoy this picture taken late in the evening here

Cute but man they mess up my pond when they try to go fishing and they are mean when you try to scare them off.

A few of the daylily are handling the heat. These only get the sun on the east side

Too hot to garden, so I am playing here

This is wild here and it's everywhere. I think it's snow on the mountain

hardy hibiscus, I have about 30 individual plants around my 4 ponds..they look pretty good except there is some insect that just makes lace of the leaves this time of year

Sharon, what you thought was snow on the mountain is actually a Croton, probably this one;
Croton capitatus

as you can see it is good for butterflies.

Gainesville, TX

Josephine, you are always so helpful. Yes that appears to be like mine

Believe it or not, I had to hunt for some of those to put in the butterfly garden, but now I have two.

Gainesville, TX

if u need another thousand or so, bareroot, just let me know

Another hardy hibiscus in my area......pure white, while very pretty, it has a short bloom period here. It is called Blue River II. It doesn't multiply as well as my "swamp" hibiscus either.

The butterfly place describe the croton as not very pretty. In the eye of the beholder, I guess, I think it's beautiful

I agree with you Sharon, it is beautiful.

Beautiful view, Sharon!!

hubby complaining I had planted this one too close too the house. He was determined to take it out. I compromised by removing all the back limbs. He is content for now.

Sharon, I want to come out and see that view first hand!(Yes, even get in your bathtub, I am feeling hot and sticky right now)) It must be nice to have that privacy.
Cheryl, that Salvia pentstemoniodes is pretty. Good to find plants that like the heat.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Sweet view Sharon!! Envious of your privacy, but I like being close to all of the amentities too much!

Gainesville, TX

I lived in Irving near the stadium for 100 years. I miss the amenities but going nekkid in the woods is neat too

I think I'm going to come visit!! Love the views!

Arlington, TX

Just go out and hose yourself off! If you are naked, I won't tell on you.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Guess that explains the id name "sharondippity"!!! LOL!

Gainesville, TX

yep! I can be somewhat dippity!

Did ya"ll get storms.? We got 2 in rain and lots of high winds. Lost some tree limbs but nothing serious. More to come today they say .A disadvantage to living in the woods is that our only communication comes from satellite systems. When we have storms the system goes down and we get no notification of tornadic activity other that what we can see with the eye.

the weather and winds did not effect us much, the blooms are still pretty on the lilies

Beautiful bloom, Sharon!

No rain here, but it did cool off, which I appreciated.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Only wind here and no rain.

Arlington, TX

Maybe tonight...trying to optimistic here.

Prayers for rain without storms! Nice ....slow....soaking rain from above!! Lord that even sounds better than what we have had lately.

Arlington, TX

At this point I will even take a storm -tornadoes of course.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm praying for a tropical storm, depression, or something of the like.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

No tornadoes please.... praying for a slow 3 day "to wet to plow" heavy rain. Even if I get some flooding from it, at this point it would be worth it! This is a view from the end of my yard looking toward the house in 2007. I wouldn't want it to go any higher...it has been two foot into the shop (on left). But Lord you know we need the rain in this area.
