I didn't get a Cindy's dog last time... I wanna be first in line if you are bringing them
Food Thread for DonnieBrook's July 16 RU
Your name is in the very fist one, Allison! :)
I seldom eat hot dogs, but those were the best!
woo hoo!!!
Woo hoo indeed! LOL. That last post of mine was auto-corrected to say your name was "IN" the first dog - not "on" it. Tee hee, Allison.
don't worry I am so wiped out from work... I understood
:)
cindy takes credit for both lousie - i think i will sign here up for potatoe salad again:)
Oh, I was so gonna bring potato salad for Dad's contribution, Bill. Will have to think of something else now. Oh, I know, I made this great fruit salad on the 4th, sort of my own take on ambrosia salad but different. You guys will love it!
Karen
Karen, there's no problem in having both potato salads. Remember that we have 20 - 22 people for lunch. I will need everyone to bring cold dishes in ice chests because we have a small refrigerator only, and it will be packed already.
I was bringing mine!
food is getting out of hand:)
Yeah, it all sounds so good!
Okay Louise, but I will probably bring that 'fruit' salad. I think people will really like it. Will bring my stuff in a cooler, as well.
Karen
The drinks we'll be providing are bottled waters and regular and "zero calorie" Arnold Palmers (iced tea/lemonade drink). We'll also have coffee after lunch. If you aren't into water, iced tea or lemonade (will also probably make a big pitcher of lemonade alone), feel free to bring something you'd like instead. It's supposed to be a warm day.
Yay! What's better than lemonade on a hot day?
Our thoughts exactly! :) Plus, the drink of the summer at the farm has been the Arnold Palmers ever since someone gave Hank a bottle for his birthday. So, you can have your lemonade straight or as an Arnold Palmer.... Personally, I'm a water fiend, especially in hot weather.
we love the diet A. P. 1/2 & 1/2!!!
Then we'll make sure to include some half and half APs as well, Allison!
Liza, since you are recovering from surgery, I think you should just come and not worry about making food. I'm sure we'll have plenty!
oh no.. don't go add anything extra.. I can deal with just one or the other.. or just mix the two.. LOL
Allison, I had planned to get a mix anyway, and we haven't tried that one, so it will be a good one to get some of! Variety is the spice of life after all. :)
By the way, Liza - that's a cute little cart that John has there! I like the plants in it too! :)
Brian loves the AP Half/Half too.....I swear he and Allison are from the same darn mold!!
LOL... it is frighting at times... but I have a co-worker that is just like me.. and his wife is just like Randy.. guess it's the polar opposites that work
I love water too, Louise. Will take that. And Dad will love the lemonade.
Hello, Liza and John! I look forward to seeing you guys at the RU. John, I love the cart you made out of the old lawnmower. What a nice idea!
Karen
those meat balls sound good:)
Sorry guy, my car is broken and I can't come on Saturday as I will either have the shop's loaner or be out buying another car. :( So scratch out the weeds on the menu. LOL!
can pick you up Memory
Since, I'll be up there all weekend it needs to be something I can make ahead of time and doesn't need to be kept cold...
How about gluten free brownies?(believe me you won't know the difference!)
Chips
sure!
Sounds great, Jen!!
I love brownies!
Louise, if you don't mind...i'd like to bring a deli meat platter. Virg. Baked Ham, Seasoned roast beef, oven roasted chicken breast. Sound OK?
Sounds terrific, Celeste!! We'll do a few dogs and if Liza does bring her meatballs, we'll have plenty of choice!
Jen, I've had gluten free brownies, and you're absolutely right, you can't tell the difference. In fact I liked them even better than the regular ones.
Karen
If everything goes OK...i'll be bringing fresh cukes too. ^_^
i just read the edibles thread and now here - really rubbing it in celeste :)
Well i'm willing to share Bill. :)
i saw that :)
Whoa, Celeste. way to show me up. LOL!! My cukes are still really teeny - but of course, they have been exceedingly neglected, as has been everything in the vegetable domain. You'll see.....very sad. :) Cukes would be a nice addition for sure!
