Marti made it here just fine. We had a nice visit over breakfast and she is on to Jonesboro, AR, to stop at ButterflyChaser's. I'm so glad she got here much earlier than planned although they did lower the temperature projection for today ... from 103º down to 102º. LOL.

She dropped off some lovely elderberry bushes, daffodil bulbs and a nice pot of yellow/white violets. I gave her a "to go" bag of goodies since she couldn't take plants. The bushes are soaking in cool water and rebounding nicely, marti. Thank you again! ^_^

Well, I made it to Ventura to my son's. Got my Jeep unloaded and ready to start taking care of the grandson. the only trouble I had was that my ATM card got blocked by the bank and I got stuck last night in 103 heat in the desert til I could call the bank in Somerset to have them unblock it. Will check out the community garden tomorrow.

Marti, that's awful! But I guess a charge out of town might have sent up an alert and they thought someone stole your card. So they were just looking out for you I imagine. How awful that you were stuck in that heat for hours!

I enjoyed your visit, Marti. And thank you for the jam, bulbs, and seeds you brought me. Enjoy being "home" with your family.

As soon as I can get a picture of the two of us, I will post it. For now I'm just enjoying time with my son and grandson. My DIL is trying to spoil me. She gets up every morning and fixes me breakfast. I'm not used to anyone fixing me anything.
When I was on the mountain with my GS, I found a thistle plant with pink flowers. I've seen ones with purple flowers, but had not noticed the pink ones before.

I found out the name of one of the plants here at my son's. It is called Princess Flower.
It is a very pretty dark purple flower.

That's beautimous! ^_^

I have to cut the Princess Flower back and will try to root some cuttings. If I'm successfull are you interested in a rooted cutting?

Doing okay at the moment. The temps have dropped into the 60's at night and some lower 80's during the day.

How about you?

Hate to rub it in, but I've been sleeping with a blanket and my quilt since I got here. Also most days wearing a long sleeved shirt or light jacket during the day. Temps in the 70's with onshore breezes off the ocean.

I will let you know if I get this plant to root. Direction say to use green wood cuttings. So when I get paid next wednesday, I'll get some potting soil and trim the plant for cuttings.

Well, got the news today. My sister LaVonne is back in the hospital for a few days. They would of let her come home today if I had been there to care for her, but I'm not so they are keeping her there to keep a close watch on her. DARN!!!

Sissy got home from the hospital and is doing fairly. She still needs someone to make sure she doesn't get carried away with doing to much.

Great news for me. I am back online on my own computer so will be able to start posting pictures of my new yard and progress.
