Heard rumblings but nothing yet. North and east of here is getting whacked.
Well, the heat is getting to me. I've found two posts, one last night and one this morning, where I never hit the send button, so they just stayed there and I ended up deleting them because they were no longer relevant.
You know that red area on the doppler radar, well it's on top of us right now. Some rain actually fell. Last night we got the thunder and the lightening, but no precipitation. In the 20 years we've lived here I've noticed that we must be in some kind of a trough area where everyone else gets the moisture, but we stay dry. My grass is browning. I just hope we get some appreciable rain fall out of this.
Yesterday, my thermometer in the shade read 100 degrees. Today the humidity made the 97 degrees much worse than yesterday's 100. Both days we've been confined to the school because of the heat advisory.

Darkening skies, the sound of distant thunder, crackling static over the radio, - it's raining somewhere, but it ain't here! The air is thick with moisture, almost seems a little hard to breathe outside until you get used to it. You're expecting a breath of fresh air and it's like breathing the same air you just exhaled but warmer...

It was raining here, hail, winds...in excess of 70mph is some spots. Not here, not hail either but just 25 miles east of here had some up to 1-2".
Last hour and half we had severe T & L and poured here. Cooled us right off, down to 68 now.

Can't believe it, we went from the high 90s to 60s in an hour. It's still lightly raining and if it were up to me, it could continue all night to help revive the plants. What a relief.

No rain, hail, thunder or lightening here. Went out on my break at 2. Car thermometer read 102º. 92º on the way home at 6:30. Computer says 93º currently.
High winds came through just before 6pm. Thunder, lightning & only about 1/4" of rain. could have used more rain & less noise. Cooled down to 68" I see a branch came off the tulip tree. One with quite a few flowers, drat it. I was hoping that they will attract the orioles.
Wind is picking up, thunder......bring on the precipitation!!
