In that case it should be a night to remember. (lol!)
Weather in Your Garden # 98
Too much sun will cause damage. Jen, did someone tell you that it is the sunscreen that causes skin cancer? Bull....
Yep, WC, funny how some segments of society took thousands of years for their skin to adapt to constant sun exposure, but descendents of northern europeans think they can adapt in one floridian season....as a teen I had a smattering of freckles across my nose, now I have age spots. It wasn't the sunscreen I didn't use.
I used to feel so bad for those young girls with orange/ leather skin less than 25 yrs old..
unfortunately it's like fashion, even though it's bad for you, you still do it to fit in to a dysfunctional 'click'.
(like 6 inch heels..)
And aside from cancer, it causes wrinkles and 'beaten up' looking skin. If you smoke, even worse!
I was a certified beach bunnie in my younger years, but I was not the girl lathered up in oil sprawled on the beach, I was in the ocean swimming for as long as possible. I'm not sure if that was good or bad....but let me tell you about the 6 inch heels......they hurt. Not when you're walking, it's when you're sitting....figure that one out! But at least these days, they put a little platform on the front so you're not pitched forward at a 90º angle. I had a pair on the other day at work and sooooo many people came over to comment how great I looked..........and what GREAT shoes......I came to the conclusion that to great promoted, it's not the work that counts, it's the shoes.
I agree! 45 here now...come on sun!!
48 here.. going to 78
57 - beautiful morning.
sunny & 45°.
Sunny, still breezy, heading up to 75.....will be at the farm babysitting today.....
72° going to 77, clear, beautiful day here.
74 and sunny. 34% H. Nice and dry again! Some thin clouds.
81 and sunny. Lots of graduation parties today. (friends of the kids)
Was cleaning out the area which I plant my Dahlias when I noticed new growth at the base of the old dried stalks. - they overwintered! I have 3 Dahlia plants starting up from last year!
76°
Congrats WC! I have some glads that have come back 2 winters in a row. Almost unheard of in Maine!
I've had glads come back, never dahlias.....it was a bright, sunny day....warm even up at the farm....
I was excited to see glads came back for me .. for the 1st time this year... BUT no strawflowers this year
:(
guess I have to start more from seed next year
great day today - cool with sun - went on the annual garden tour in Concord, MA - pretty disappointing - only two homes deserved to be seen at best
We had the world's best weather on Friday. Didn't want to blow the whistle and bring the kids in. Last night was almost cold. This morning was pleasantly cool and breezy which was great because it was my field day at the farm project but tonight it's overcast and humid. Only 68 degrees though. Tomorrow's my day outside. It better not rain.
Hate to tell you...
I'm stomping my foot! Oh well, perhaps a shower in the evening just to settle in my new plantings and keep me from having to water the school garden. I could accept that.
No rain predicted here until Mon. We have a block in place. Comfortable working outside this afternoon--weed, weed. My shoulder isn't comfortable even using both hands to pull. Have to use my tool right handed.
Had a little bit of rain this evening, nothing measureable
It's gorgeous outside! 60 degrees, calm wind and sunny. The air smells delicious. I have so many chores today. Ugh.
looks like we might get thunderstorms tonight... 56 now going to 74... perfect if you ask me
Was 42 when I got up, heading to 70 today, or so they say. Looks nice out, no wind for a change and it's bright and sunny. :)
63 and heading to 79. hope to get some weeding done today.
60°, wind from the Southeast at 7 mph, H 64%, clear skies
Going up to 69° today, w/ mixed clouds & sun, possible shower towards the early evening.
Tonight's low 56° under mostly cloudy skies.
Morning was sunny & cool....now it's 72, very cloudy....hoping for showers as the gardens are like concrete......
Cloudy and cool
Down to 74. Was a pleasant day to be outside. Overcast and light breeze with perfect temperatures. No rain though and we could use some.
great day again - close to being done with mulch and moved out two RB's and replaced with jm's
Sun came out around 5:30pm great end to the day
High was 73°
High was 70° here, clouds rolling in from the West towards late afternoon. Bright sun drying everything out, had to water everything but it's not as good as rain...
Perfect weather here for me! Same temps as Pixie....so happy to be out of the Florida heat and humidity! Love being back up here!!! Had a wonderful garden day and then sat on the front porch at dusk listening to the most beautiful concert of songbirds. Deeeeelightful!!!
Still hot as blue blazes here. It is raining. Hallelujah!!!!
Cool enough to weed in comfort--I'm afraid that heat is coming.
48 this morning sunny and a high of 77 is predicted for today. :)
55 now going to 80
