We came from here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1184012/#new
We've been having some pretty bad storms here in our part of the country. Tornados are things most of us have only seen on T.V. ...until now. Hope that all the people can recover and things get better.
Even the critters looked spooked after that last set of storms came through.
"Lady....got anything in my size for floating device? Toy Boat, old sponge, anything that floats!! Where the hell is Noah when you need him??"
Weather in Your Garden # 98
does have that face.. LOL
It's 50 now, heading to 67 for a high, partly cloudy skies. Humidity:62 % but best of all.....
Wind:WNW 5 mph ! Yesterday it was only 60 and the wind was brutal, felt more like a fall day !!!
This little guy came up into the mudroom(bri left the door open) and helped himself to some birdfood right out of the bag. It has nuts and pieces of fruit in it. Cherries to be exact and he evidently has a "thing" for cherries!
only serve the good stuff huh.. LOL.. people & animal alike!!!
I try! LOL
52° & sunny. I hope no rain.
61 and goosebumps!
Chilly! 61 here as well. Breezy. Pollen still very high.
Looking forward to an A+ day today, gorgoeus morning so far
64°
Chilly, but sunny & still breezy....my eyes are burning from the pollen, but I'm headed out to weed.....
Okay, rub it in. Yesterday was high 90's.
Glad you are back to more reasonable temps. I had big plans to do things in DS's yard, but he'll have to do them himself when it cools down.
67 and sunny. I don't mind sweatshirt weather.
72 gorgeous degrees here. Only 27% humidity!
57 and freezing!
70, 23% humidity, constant sunshine, still windy.
75° 27% humidty ahhhhhhh NICE!!!!!!!!!
still windy here too... but not complaining one bit.. just beautiful
Perfect day! Finally got the pond waterfall going after patching what I hope is the slow leak.
Hit 40 kWh on the solar! Has to be perfectly clear and cool to get that.
Perfect day to be weeding in the garden, & I did......
73°, clear
Went to nearby Agway they were having open house specials, then came back did some work putting some things in bigger pots then started working on the area next to the new gravel driveway. SO glad for that breeze today.
Sun was scorching today, deceptive with the breeze which made me feel comfortable and the sun tolerable. People are coming out of the beach looking like ripe tomatoes. Beware of skin cancer I say..
67° on the way to 52 lovely degrees.
The sun does not cause skin cancer
of course not, loose electrons have no effect on DNA and RNA chains..
What's RNA stand for?
Ribonucleic acid
The sun does not cause skin cancer - skin causes it!
More so of what you put on your skin is causing it
Yes - like sunlight. ^_^
UGH
Then bathe up guys, knock yourselves out!
- try telling that joke to the people in Florida that I've seen with melanoma...
Where did those people move from? or are they native Floridians? Do they use sunscreen? Do they wear sunglasses when out in the sun? How many hours do they spend in the sun?
Do you realize that Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Kentucky, Maine, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, and Washington have the highest skin cancer rates in the US?
hmmmm, no southern states listed(unless you count OK as a southern state)
Because people in northern areas overdo it in the sun. People in the south know how dangerous it is.
Heat = radiation.
sometimes radiation can be seen sometimes it cant , (with our limited visual spectrum)
Radiation= energized particles, (waves in other scenarios), which bond to other molecules in the body sometimes causing mutations.
Result, = a cell or two which has a mutation reproduces clones of itself within the body, unchecked by white blood cells which find this mutation 'strange' so they are ineffective against the threat.
Abnormal cell mutations = 'cancer'
Powerful chemicals and gamma radiation as well as surgery begins.
- The body begins to fight itself, it betrays itself, hell on earth begins, if you're lucky you neutralize the threat.
if not the threat overwhelms the body and it dies.
- short and not so sweet.
Ps. very fair skinned people in the South are exposed too much too the sun, I had many friends in Florida who knew all about cancers but since they live there... It kinda comes with the territory..
63°
There is no doubt sun causes skin cancer in fairer people. So do tanning booths.
Sun is too darn hot!
Yes, they've recently added some new legislation about those booths.
- what some people will do to look good on a night out..
I can't believe tanning booths are still legal
If the night is good enough, you won't remember.
